Publisher Time Warner Interactive hosted a "National Primal Rage Video Game Tournament" at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington, Texas in 1995.
Primal Rage uses an unconventional copy protection method that will effectively lock-out certain features of the game, particularly some special moves. As a result of this copy-protection there is no arcade-perfect home port of the game and perfect emulation of the original arcade game has been unsuccessful.
