Divine Herald has access to more healing-related stuff and also defensive buffs. Appease Spirits passively restores HP to allies with buffs, Exorcism Prayer raises party's resistance to ailments and binds, Haste Prayer gives evasion buffs to the party, Vitality Prayer breaks maximum health’s threshold for the party, Sanctuary gives the party a chance to nullify ailments or binds by dispelling a buff for one turn, Holy Flame passively restores HP when exploring the labyrinth (walking), Split Spirits restores HP to allies based on a percentage of damage dealt by them, and Benevolence passively restores HP when party members take damage.

Divine Herald is a party healer, so it's discouraged to bring another healer such as Rover or Merciful Healer. Haste Prayer benefits Phantom Duelist’s need for evasion, so it's recommended to be added into the team. Vitality Prayer also gives benefit to Impact Brawler's Heavenly Aid although Impact Brawler won't need it on higher level. Holy Flame eliminates the need for after battle healing.

With the assumption of rested character with around 30 skill points, spend one point on each Shaman's 6 prayer skills, then maximize Gospel and Prayer Mastery. Spend the rest of the points to unlock Holy Flame and Sanctuary (5 points to each Exorcism Prayer, Haste Prayer, and Vitality Prayer). Exorcism Prayer and Sanctuary will ensure your party members free from ailments and binds. Appease Spirits, Benevolence, and Split Spirits can be learned as you go.

Build notes:

  • Divine Herald is the better Mastery Class for Shaman, it does everything a support in this game needs to do.
  • If Shaman didn’t have Mastery classes but still had Dance Oracle it would still be top of the food chain.
  • Your build will be vastly different than this if you care about Haste, Focus, or Vitality Prayer at the start of the build. If you care about Exorcism or Sanctuary, you might want to try caring less about them.
  • Heaven’s Gift is situational.
  • Brouni Union Skills are always great on a healer/support class.

Build for lazy guys who want to blow up enemies and never use the menu to heal:

Start [Ruinous Prayer (1) > Aegis Prayer (1) > Focus Prayer (1) > Prayer Mastery (1 or 5) > Gospel (1 or 5) > Appease Spirits (5) > Blaze Prayer (3) > Hail Prayer (3) > Bolt Prayer (3) > Dance Oracle (3) > Split Spirits (3) > Holy Flame (2) > Benevolence (1)]

Optional You may have to delay maxing or obtaining Dance Oracle for points in Prayer Mastery depending on your TP Pool. Invest more points into Gospel, Appease Spirits, Holy Flame, and/or Split Spirits until your healing is sufficient.
