There is a campfire directly one square south of your position. If your chicken has laid some Eggs, you can start to make Egg-in-the-Basket here. Step back and hug the left wall until you find 2 impassable crevices and a chopping point. I got 2 Spiraling Vines and Ivied Bark here, similar to the ones that I got in previous area. Now head southeast until you touch the switch, then head northwest until you touch another switch. The southwest road should be accessible now. Follow the way and hug the right wall, avoid those 2 FOEs on the field, and touch the second switch from the other side. Head west to the dead end to meet Conrad again who now offers to trade provisions.

  • The first option trades 1 Egg with 5 Olives.
  • The second option trades 1 Moon Apple with 3 Meats.
  • The third option trades 1 Forest Honey with 5 Forest Berries.

Conrad disappears after the trading process. I traded each item once at this place. Head 4 squares north, then 4 squares east to find another switch. You have to touch it in order to let Toxipede head south to D1. Keep going east to harvest a few Moon Apples, then enter the nearby crevice to open the shortcut. Head back, approach the third switch, wait until the Toxipede arrives at D1, then touch the switch to trap it on the south side. Now head north and then southeast to find a treasure chest with Kotegiri which can only be equipped with Masurao. This weapon may only have low attack points, but now your Masurao may bind enemies' arms with each attack, which is quite useful against Colossal Roper. Now head all the way to the northwest to find a resting spot. Select the second option to recover 16 (Advanced) / 20 (Basic) HP and TP to all party members.

Adventurer's Log

Under the Giant Tree

While you were at an impasse, you decided to take a brief break beneath a large tree. It was pretty nice.

Adventure Result (EXP)AdvancedBasic

Open a nearby door, then head north to touch another switch. An Owl Beast FOE shows up on the field, chasing you regardless of your position, so head south and make a clockwise trip around the stone wall, and then head northeast to continue. If you engage a random encounter, immediately flee from it because an FOE is directly behind you. Keep hugging the left wall until you find a door, head southwest to find a taking point with Brown Tuber, Lotus Fruit, and Skunk Cabbage, then continue hugging the right wall until you find another crevice which is now passable. Remember that you have to touch it in order to open the shortcut. Now head southeast to trigger an event. Since you've learned Reflexes, select the first option to avoid the battle.

Adventurer's Log

Watch Your Step

Thanks to your light footing and sharp senses, you walked away from danger. Wisdom is knowing when not to fight.

Adventure Result (EXP)AdvancedBasic

Head north to find another door, then turn right to touch the switch, which should be the fifth switch. Head northeast to find the sixth switch, retouch the fifth switch, and then head east to find an examinable object. This event can be cleared when your Celestrian has learned Detect Mana skill, which should be done since 4F.

Adventurer's Log

Message from the Past

After detecting mana, you read a helpful message on a boulder from a past adventurer. Follow it to find buried treasure!

Adventure Result (EXP)AdvancedBasic

Head north to open the door, follow the path to touch the seventh switch, keep heading east to touch the eighth switch, head back to retouch the seventh switch, head southeast until you find the ninth switch, head west and follow the path to find the tenth switch, go back to retouch the ninth switch and eight switch, then finally you can open the treasure chest with 800 en in the middle of the field. What? After the confusing puzzle, it just contains money? Seriously I'm not impressed. Now retouch the eighth and seventh switch, then head east of the ninth switch and follow the way to another door.

Hug the right wall to find some battered equipment. They're required for clearing a request later. Head south to find a fishing point, hug the right wall to find a mining point with Mossy Ore, Cracked Mudstone, and Cloudy Augite, then keep hugging the right wall until you find an examinable object. Select the first option to examine the object which requires Celestrian's Night Vision skill, then select the second option to fight 1 Colossal Roper and 4 Rabid Acorns. After I tried different kind of skills, it seemed that I couldn't avoid this battle. You have to defeat Rabid Acorns as fast as possible, because Colossal Roper can perform a cooperation move with Rabid Acorn, incapacitating some of your party members. Defeat them and then obtain Vine Armor as reward. Actually you can immediately choose the second option, but you only get half of the EXP reward.

Adventurer's Log

Creeping Shadow

Upon finding a piece of armor in the river, you were hit by an ambush, so you slew the monsters and got a prize.

Adventure Result (EXP)AdvancedBasic

  • I heard that this event can only be triggered at night. I'll test it later when I have time.

Hug the right wall to find a crevice to the next zone, touch the switch, come back to open the treasure chest with Copper Ingot in the east, and then head southwest to open another door. There is a boss in the north of this zone, as well as another crevice in the west. Pass through the crevice, head toward the campfire if you want to make some rations, then head south to trigger an event. This event can only be triggered after reading the notice for completing Message from the Past above. You'll obtain 5 Celestial Silvers, Scramasax, and Volt Jar as reward.

Adventurer's Log

Present from the Past

After deciphering the message left by a past explorer, you located the spot it described and found buried treasure.

Adventure Result (EXP)AdvancedBasic

What's left is the boss itself, but I preferred to return to the town at this point. My party members had used most of theirs TP, and my inventory already had no space left either.

Since you have created the maps on each floor, you can visit Council Hall and register them, along with monsters and items you've defeated and farmed. You'll obtain Luck Necklace after submitting the entire 1st Stratum maps, 3 Nectars after registering 10 monsters, and Copper Ingot after registering 10 items. If you wonder why some floors are locked at GATE, they are unlocked after registering the maps, so please register any maps you've created after traveling into higher floor.

As usual, requests will give huge EXP bonuses, and you'll need them before fighting the boss.

The House of Gryphon

This request is from a gentleman with a monocle looking for a gryphon-helmeted adventurer on 5F.

Reward: Soma

If you have marked the place during your previous journey, now simply go there to collect the necessary item. However, you'll be ambushed by 2 Man-eating Hares, so defeat them before obtaining Gryphon Helmet. Now head back to BAR and talk to Monocided Gentleman to give that item.

Adventure Result (EXP)AdvancedBasic

Vermin Extermination

This request from a local carpenter calls for the destruction of a nest of monsters on 5F.

Reward: Copper Ingot x2

Once you've accepted the request, a new destination appears in 5F. You also obtain Explosive Ball and Monster Bait to be used there. Now simply go there and then choose "Take out the meat", "Place it on the ground", "Scorch the middle", "Wait another moment", and "Set up the bomb now". If done correctly, you'll avoid the battle, otherwise you have to fight against 3 Man-eating Hares.

Adventure Result (EXP)AdvancedBasic

Grocery Shopping I

This request from a local chef calls for one Scarlet Carapace.

Reward: Boiled Crawfish x3

Scarlet Carapace is obtained from Iron Crustacean, the FOE in 4F and 5F. Similar to Toxipede in 2F, this battle is quite challenging depending on how many levels your characters have. You may also need to bring a few Medica IIs and Nectars before fighting it. Iron Crustacean always opens the battle with Ice Slicer which easily incapacitates some of your party members. Perform Defend against this attack, then repeat it again after it wastes a turn to telegraph this attack. Defeating this enemy gives 1764 EXP and of course, Scarlet Carapace. If you manage to defeat it with any cut-type attacks, you'll also obtain Cut-off Claw as additional loot.

Adventure Result (EXP)AdvancedBasic

Jenetta's Excellent Adventure

"My little sis Jenetta is wandering into Yggdrasil trying to make new bread. She needs a babysitter!"

Reward: Pepper Cannon

This request only appears if you have found Jenetta in 3F. Head into INN to retrieve the information and agree to help Jenetta, then climb up to 3F where Jenetta temporarily joins your party members although she is quite useless. Now head toward the beehive at E2 on the map. However, a guard warns you that an Owl Beast FOE guards the beehive. You have to defeat it in order to collect Forest Honey. Similar to Toxipede in 2F, this battle is quite challenging depending on how many levels your characters have. You may also need to bring a few Medica IIs and Nectars before fighting it. Defeating this enemy gives 2328 EXP and Bear Feather.

Once you've cleared this request, every few days you'll get a few Forest Honeys when visiting Inn.

Adventure Result (EXP)AdvancedBasic

Now select PATRON to see some new faces. The first one in the list is Monocided Gentleman who provides further information about the first request. The rest of the patrons just inform some tips which may be useful during your adventure. If you accept those 4 requests, climb to 3F to clear the fourth request, climb to 4F to clear the third request, then climb to 5F to clear the first and second requests. Now return to the town to save your progress.

Before getting the EXP reward from clearing requests, if you don't bring a Harbinger in your main team, it's better if you switch one of your characters with this one. In order to get the Stun Barrier loot, you have to defeat the upcoming boss while it's paralyzed. Harbinger is the only one who can inflict paralyze at this point, but you have to learn Miasma Armor and Paralyzing Reap. If your Harbinger starts at level 1, you may want to bring him/her as the only party member so that this character takes all the EXP rewards.

Now return to the BAR to report the requests, then head into INN to rest and save your game. Bring a few Nectars and Medica IIs, then back to 5F to fight the boss.
