26F - Taking a Step Beyond
6th Stratum Extra Notes
One important note for this stratum is: there is no event inside the labyrinth. So you don't need to learn event-related Race Skills such as Night Vision, Reflexes, Hunting Skill, etc. Since you don't need Night Vision, you may don't even need to bring a Celestrian. If you really need skill points, just rest your character to reallocate those points.
During your progress in this stratum you'll fight 4 superbosses + the final superboss of this stratum, so you may need to reconsider your party members' synergy to deal with those superbosses. Resting costs 2 levels and altering classes costs 5 levels, but shortly afterward one of the best places to grind your party is accessible so you can catch up those levels without too much trouble.
Before arriving at this floor, you may want to equip that Comet Ornament, obtained after submitting the entire 5th Stratum, to your main damage dealer. One of the enemies here, Stardust, will self-destruct and may instantly kill one of your characters if being attacked. Also bring a lot of Nectars as backup.
You'll also see many warp points in this floor. They will ALWAYS teleport you 5 SQUARES toward your direction. For instance, if you approach the warp point from its north, you'll be teleported 5 squares south. Since there are too many possible landing points, I'll only mention the necessary warps in order to reach higher floor. I'll put some bricks to avoid unwanted teleportations.
Remember, the difficulty can be changed anytime when you're in town.

Move west to find a campsite, hug the left wall until you harvest a few Moon Apples, then turn back and now head east of the Geomagnetic Pole until you arrive at the first warp point. Remember that after touching warp point, you'll always be teleported 5 squares ahead of your direction. In this floor I'll mention those 5 squares, but later you have to remember it by yourself.
After touching the warp point from its south, you'll arrive 5 squares north. Move west to find an impassable crevice in the north, then follow the way to the warp point again. This time it takes you 5 squares east. Head north to find a chopping point with Flowering Branch, Tripod Cedar, and Reverse Tree, then retouch the warp point again from its north to be teleported 5 squares south. Face north and follow the way to find a fishing point, then turn back and follow the way to the northern warp point. You'll be teleported 5 squares east to E7, so move east and then head north to harvest a few Forest Wheats. Turn back and now head toward the northwest warp point, and you'll be teleported 5 squares north to D6. In this area you can find Moon Apples and Mandrapotatoes harvest points, so collect them.
Head toward the west warp point, and you'll be back in the area with chopping point. Follow the same way until you return to E7, but now head toward the northeast warp point to be teleported to D7. This zone has 3 warp points in the west. Head toward the northwest warp point to be teleported to C5, follow the way to find another warp point which takes you to C3, step back 2 squares east and then head south to be teleported to D4, then follow the way to find a chest with Rune Circlet. Turn back and touch the warp point at the dead end, which takes you back toward the entrance.
Follow the same way again until you return to C7, but now head toward the middle west warp point to be teleported to C5. Follow the way to open the shortcut at D5, then come back and head west to be teleported to D4, and then hug the right wall until you find another door to the next zone. In this area an FOE, Mounting Horror, shows up on the field. This creature is always alerted when you enter the room, then it'll summon a copy of itself which has identical stats as the caster. The original FOE is immobilized, but the copy always pursues you. If you manage to defeat the copy, the original will summon another copy on the field after you make 2 steps. However, if you manage to defeat the original, the copy will immediately vanish, so keep these behaviour in your mind.
Best Training Ground
This place is possibly the best place to grind your characters, but you need to bring Spirit Broker, as they can learn Zombie Powder which may instantly kill the FOE. Mounting Horror has somewhat lower resistance to Instant Death, and it always respawns if you don't defeat the original. To increase your character's LUCK stat, which helps in landing ailments, they should equip 7-Star Coffin, buyable at the shop for Pliable Bark, a common chopping material in 5th Stratum.
Other choices are:
To obtain the maximum effect, you should bring a Harbinger with maxed Soul Gather and also switch to Basic mode. Soul Gather will double the experience gained at max level, and Basic Mode has 1.2 EXP multiplier, for a total of 408000 EXP per battle. Of course you can also bring a few Heavenly Gift items if you can farm it, buyable at the shop for each Burnt Pauldron, dropped by Headless Hunter in 3rd Stratum after defeating it with fire attack. This item further doubles the EXP again for a maximum of 816000 EXP per battle. You'll also obtain both of its loot which equals to 18800 en when sold. After collecting 254000 en (241300 with Haggle), you can buy Soboro, forge it to the max, and then recycle it to obtain 4 Gold Shards.
However, you may need to hold off for now if your party members' level nearly reaches 70, the default level cap in this game. You can start to train after unlocking the first limit.
You won't be able to progress north this time so head west to open another door, then follow the way to the next zone which has another FOE on the field. Similar to the previous encounter, you won't be able to head northeast this time, so move 2 squares east to open the door in the south. This small area has 1 warp point, and thanks to it, now you can approach the northeast door. You'll be back to the first room with the FOE, but you still can't approach the door yet. Head east to find another warp point which takes you near the door, and then exit from this room.
Head north to open another door, then you can see another warp point in the northeast. It'll warp you to 27F, but ignore it for now. Move 4 squares east to open the shortcut in the south, then hug the right wall to find a chopping point with Flowering Branch, Tripod Cedar, Reverse Tree. Your journey on this floor is completed for now, and as usual, it's better if you return to the town to deal with the requests.
"From Egar, to the [insert your guild name]: Meet me at the Explorers Guild after taking this request."
Reward: Amrita II x5
Head into Explorer Guild to meet Egar who informs about a rare crystal which can only be obtained by defeating Crystal Dragon within 10 turns. Your characters will be much stronger than your first-time encounter, so the battle should be easier than before. Land on 21F and then go downstairs to fight the boss once again. However, the crystal is nowhere to be found. Return to Explorers Guild and talk to Egar who confesses that the whole story was fabricated. He only wanted to measure your strength for his true request, which is unlocked immediately.
Anyway, at this point Crystal Dragon will immediately revive if you go back and forth between 20F and 21F. However, it only happens as long as you don't report the result to Egar. This is probably the best time to farm both of Crystal Dragon's loot if you need to create Blue Moon Bow or Brahmagiri. Forged Blue Moon Bow can be recycled to obtain 3 Gold Shards, and Brahmagiri is the strongest coffin in the game, having Banefire Breath skill which gives elemental defense debuffs to one enemy's row. Of course it is useful only if you have Necromancer in your party.
This is a request for all the rare materials that are dropped by powerful monsters in Yggdrasil.
Reward: Gold Ingot
Basically you need to defeat certain FOEs in each stratum and obtain their additional loot as reward.
If you've already farmed these items during your previous adventure, this request can be cleared immediately. If you never defeat any of these FOEs, you may want to defeat 2 of each, as you need the second loot to be sold for unlocking something in the shop.
