4th Stratum

17F - Pillars on the Pathway

Before arriving at this floor, if you don't have someone who can inflict paralyze and blind ailments, you may want to restock some Stun Gas and Blind Gas. Stun Gas can be bought for each Brown Wing, dropped by Stun Cicada in 2nd Stratum, and Blind Gas can be bought for each Squishy Leg, dropped by Petite Spriggan in 3rd Stratum. There is an event which you need to fight a lot of them, and you may want to obtain Volt Cryst and Fire Cryst's additional loot to clear Sparkle and Shine request.

Remember, the difficulty can be changed anytime when you're in town.

Move 2 squares west to find a campfire, head northeast and hug the left wall until you harvest a few Forest Wheats, hug the left wall until you find an impassable crevice on your right side, keep hugging the left wall to open the shortcut to the entrance, and then come back and follow the way to the dead end to meet Conrad. He needs help in collecting the crystals on the wall, and you can help him with someone who has learned Brute Strength. Simply choose the first option, then Conrad gives half of the crystals, 3 Draconic Shards as reward.

Adventurer's Log

Crystals and Adventurers

You came across another guild struggling to obtain a crystal. With your strength, you helped them and got half as thanks.

Adventure Result (EXP)AdvancedBasic

Keep hugging the left wall until you trigger another event. You'll hear unfamiliar voice ahead, and you can choose whether to approach the voice or not. Choose the first option to head toward the voice, then you'll meet someone you don't know. This girl leaves briefly, and you don't get any reward. If you choose the second option, you won't see her in this place. This event can't be triggered again, so this is your only chance. You'll meet her again later.

Anyway, keep heading west until you open the door, then head toward the center of the field to trigger an event. Select the first option to collect the crystals, but those crystals are actually monsters, and you have to fight several battles. First, you have to defeat 5 Volt Crysts in the battle. If you want to collect Inert Sugarcore, don't forget to paralyze them all. The second wave follows immediately, with 2 Fire Crysts and 2 Volt Crysts. If you want to collect Cloudy Crystal, don't forget to blind the Fire Crysts. The fight then continues to the third wave, with 1 Sword Saurian and 2 Fire Crysts. Afterward, the rest of the enemies will retreat.

Adventurer's Log

Shimmering Crystals...?

Upon entering a room covered in crystals, you discovered they were monsters in disguise.

Adventure Result (EXP)AdvancedBasic

Return to previous zone and hug the left wall until you open a door. This room has a new FOE, Sonar Worm, on the field. This creature is blind and only approaches any sound made by striking the crystals. However, it also reacts if you engage any random encounter, so you may want to engage the random encounter before entering the next room in order not to mess up the strategy.

In this room, simply break the crystal at D2, then head toward the north door to the next zone, where now has 2 FOEs on the field. Break the crystal its south, then head north to open another door.

This room also has 2 FOEs on the field. You also see 2 giant crystals side by side at B2 and B3. Strike the crystal at B2 from its east once, strike the crystal at B3 once, move back to the west of the first crystal and strike to break it, and then break the second crystal as well. There are 2 doors in the east side of this zone. Enter the one in the east.

For now move 1 square east and go through the shortcut in the south. You only need to open the shortcut here; the rest of the area will be explored later. Come back through the shortcut, move west to exit from this zone, and then head toward the south door. Before entering this room, you may want to engage a random encounter so the enemies won't mess up the next strategy. There are 3 FOEs on the field, and you'll see 2 giant crystals in the south area. You need break the west giant crystal from its west, strike the east crystal once, and then make a round trip to open another door in the south. Remember, if you engage a random encounter, you have to adjust the strategy to be able to proceed forward.

Upon entering the next zone, an upstairs to 18F can be seen in the west, but it's not your current objective. Hug the right wall until you find a mining point with Bismuth, Selenite, and Agate, head northeast and pass through the shortcut, hug the left wall to find another mining point with Bismuth, Selenite, and Agate, then hug the left wall all the way until you trigger an event, which requires someone who has learned Hunting Skill to be cleared. Simply choose the first option to obtain 3-5 Meats as reward.

Adventurer's Log

Cave Duck

After seeing a cave duck bathing in the spring water, you used your hunting skills to obtain its meat.

Adventure Result (EXP)AdvancedBasic

Hug the left wall again until you find a chest with Amrita, then keep hugging the left wall until you come back to the shortcut you've opened before. Head east of here to find a spring water which recovers 30 TP to all party members, but it can only be used once per day. Now go through the shortcut, hug the right wall until you open the chest with 7000 en, and finally head east to find another hidden shortcut. This area is very big but has neither gathering points nor events, but if you head straight to the east, you'll find another downstairs to the other side of 16F. However, I chose to return to the town since my inventory already had no space left. Don't forget that there are requests that need to be done.

Don't sell all of your ores, as Syrik's current request needs you to hand over the item, not to sell it. You also need to save 1 Draconic Shard to be given in the next floor.

In a Dark, Dark Hole

"I lost the charm my granny gave me while I was running away from a powerful monster on 16F!"

Reward: Crownlock Staff

You need to visit the hole on the ground at 16F, which should have been marked on your map during your previous journey. Examine the hole at C6, and then you need to send someone into the hole. Choose Brouni or Celestrian with Night Vision skill to find the item, Lost Charm, without taking any damage, otherwise your selected character will lose 100 HP (Advanced) / 80 HP (Basic) and you also have to fight 2 Mole Kings.

Adventure Result (EXP)AdvancedBasic

Syrik's Little Favor

Syrik has a request for the [insert your guild name].

Reward: Hamao Prime

Head into SHOP and Syrik will greet you. Now he makes a different request. He wants to give present to his mother with one of the ores found in 17F. Any ore is sufficient, but the best ore gives the best reward. If you hand over Selenium or Bismuth, you'll receive the normal reward. However, if you hand over Agate, the reward will be increased to 3 Hamao Primes instead.

Adventure Result (EXP)AdvancedBasic

Now select PATRON to see some new faces. However, the rest of the patrons just inform some tips which may be useful during your adventure. If you take the first request, I think it's quicker if you land on 17F and then go downstairs. After clearing the request, climb back to 17F, and then approach the downstairs at B7 to arrive in the other side of 16F.
