Story Walkthrough

In order to restore the missing three seasons, you will need to progress with the main story. Finishing the plot will also unlock new seeds, requests, and tools as well as allow you to get married, so it's recommended that you prioritize story quests, those marked with an exclamation point. While I've tried to minimize them as much as possible, please note there are spoilers in the walkthrough below.

Some general tips to keep in mind are:

  • Make a habit of saving every night before you go to bed. Besides minimizing lost progress in the event of an accident, you can reload your game if the weather or other conditions aren't to your liking.
  • Hire Harvest Sprites early and often. Harvest Sprites with 100% chemistry will work longer and be much more effective than Sprites with low chemistry.
  • Make it convenient, not pretty. If you're feeling overwhelmed or unsure how to terraform, just focus on making things convenient for yourself. Flatten some space near the entrance to your valley for your barn and other structures, build some stairs to the Goddess Spring, and create a path to Moon Valley. You will be visiting both of these locales often, so landscaping these paths will save you tons of time later.
  • You don't need to hoard most items. Most items you find can be obtained again easily if you happen to need them for something, so feel free to sell them when you need cash. The exceptions to this are Great quality crops, Soul Gem Ore, and the rarer metals like Orichalcum and Adamantite. You can also refer to the Requests and Crafting sections to see if you may need a particular item later.
  • If you're planning to unlock Fall ASAP, do not download DLC all at once. DLC cutscenes take priority over story cutscenes and will greatly slow you down. Add DLC to the game one set at a time and only when you're certain there won't be a story cutscene the next day.
  • Do what's fun and play at your own pace. Like many other Harvest Moon titles, you have a lot of power to tailor your experience with the game. If you're feeling rushed, slow down. If you're bored with something, stop doing it for a while. You can't miss anything and there's no penalty for taking your time to do anything, so prioritize what you want and play the game however it's fun for you.
