In order to get married to a candidate, you will first need to complete all four of their love events. You can witness all four events for every candidate before making a final decision who to marry, but once you are engaged or wedded all unfinished love events will no longer trigger. Love events will not occur with characters of the same sex, so if you wish to see a particular candidate's cutscenes, you will need to play as the opposite sex. Picking the correct conversation choice during the event will earn you 4% chemistry with the candidate, and while most wrong choices earn 1% chemistry, certain excessively harsh lines won't raise any chemistry at all.

N.B.: The event names used below were coined by me for labeling and formatting purposes, and do not exist in-game. The names used for the main characters (Jimmy-Dean and Violet) are not official ones, so mentally replace them with your own character's name.

2. Cheerful Emily

Trigger: Finish April's first four requests, then enter the screen in front of your house on Wednesday or Thursday between 10 AM and 6 PM.

"You don't need to change." — CORRECT ANSWER

April:
B-But I don’t have Emily’s sunny personality...and I’m no good at talking to people like she is... Wh-What do you mean, have confidence in myself? How could a g-girl like me...ever be c-confident? Jimmy-Dean, you’re so sweet. I still don’t know what to do...but I’m g-going to try to have more confidence in myself.

"Be more outgoing!"

April:
B-Be more outgoing, huh? Um... I... I don’t think I can do that right away, but... B-But that’s what I’ll be aiming for...

(Iris approaches the two of you.)

Iris:
April, you look so happy to have run into Jimmy-Dean!

April:
M-Mother! What’s that supposed to m-mean?

Iris:
Whenever we come here, you’re always waiting for Jimmy-Dean to come by!

April:
M-M-Mother! C-Cut it out!

(Iris leaves.)

April:
I-I’m sorry that my mother was b-blabbing like that... Really, sh-she says the s-silliest stuff sometimes... Just...f-forget what she said!

"If you say so..."

April:
Th-thanks... I’m g-glad you understand. I think...

"I've already forgotten."

April:
You...already forgot...? Th-That’s good... I think...

"Were you waiting for me?" — CORRECT ANSWER

April:
Yikes! N-No... Wh-Why would you even think that? Don’t tease me, Jimmy-Dean... Actually...Actually... I really w-was looking forward to... to seeing you, Jimmy-Dean.

4. A Precious Person

Trigger: Finish April's first eight requests, then speak to her by your house on Wednesday or Thursday from 10 AM to 6 PM.

April:
Um... Jimmy-Dean... Um... Uh... Come inside? S-Sure...thanks...

(The scene shifts to the inside of the main character's house.)

April:
I’m s-sorry to bring this up... N-No...nothing happened.... it’s just... A-All of a sudden, I really... I really wanted to see you... I... I never meant to b-be so pushy... S-Sorry about that... Jimmy-Dean, you have done so...so much for me...but I can’t help w-wondering why...

"You're important to me." — CORRECT ANSWER

April:
Y-You mean... N-No, never mind... Th-Thank you for saying that. It means a lot to me.

(April and the main character converse for a while.)

April:
I’m... um ... going to go home now. I... I’m glad we were able to spend this time together.

1. Motor Mouth

Trigger: Complete Emily's first two requests, then speak to her by your house on Monday or Tuesday between 10 AM and 6 PM.

Emily:
Oh, hey, Jimmy-Dean! How are you? I bet the farm is keeping you busy! It's hard work -- but fun too, right? Considering you live way out here in the boonies on your own, you do all right! Oops! I guess it's kind of rude to call your home the "boonies." But I didn't mean it in a bad way! Sometimes my mouth runs ahead of my brain...! That's what my mom says, anyway. I should watch what I say a little better. Seriously though, you impress me! I could never go out and till the fields and all that stuff like you do. I'm the delicate, ladylike type! You won't catch me lifting anything heavier than a spoon! Sheesh! You don't have to laugh at me quite that much!

(The conversation continues for some time, and the scene shifts to the end.)

Emily:
Ooops! There I go chitchatting again! Am I bugging you?

"Not at all..."

Emily:
Really...? I guess it's all right, then...If there's ever anything you want to say to me, just come right out and say it! 'Cause I'm the type of person that never gets a hint!

"Yeah, it's pretty annoying."

Emily:
Arrgh! I knew it! I'm so, so sorry! You just have to tell me when you're too busy to talk...'Cause I'm the type of person that never gets a hint!

"No, it's fun to talk to you." — CORRECT ANSWER

Emily:
Seriously?! That's super duper! 'Cause it was fun for me, too! I think chitchatting with you is a lot of fun, actually. So let's do it again! Promise!

2. What Bugs Me

Trigger: Complete Emily's first four requests, then speak to her in front of your house on Monday or Tuesday from 10 AM to 6 PM.

(When you arrive, Emily is being terrorized by a ...bug?)

Emily:
Jimmy-Dean...! Help me...!

(The main character shoos away the bug.)

Emily:
*Whew*...*Whew*... You saved me there! Thanks! I just can't deal with critters! That's my weakness! When I see one, I just freeze up!

"That's surprising!"

Emily:
What do you mean by that? Why wouldn't there be something that scares me? But anyway...thanks for helping me out. I owe you one!

"That just makes you cuter!" — CORRECT ANSWER

Emily:
Say wha---?! What's that supposed to mean?! Don't tease me, okay? I'll get embarrassed...Anyway, thanks for helping me out. I guess you're one of those guys a girl can count on...just a little bit. Ha ha ha ha! Sorry, sorry! But if I get cornered by a critter again, I'm calling you, okay?

"That's pathetic.."

Emily:
What would YOU know, dummy? Everybody has a weakness! Why wouldn't there be something that scares me? But anyway...thanks for helping me out. I owe you one!

3. Me and My Big Mouth

Trigger: Complete Emily's first six requests, then enter the screen in front of your house on Monday or Tuesday from 10 AM to 6 PM.

Emily:
*Sigh* So, let me ask you... You know I have a way of blurting out whatever’s on my mind without thinking. And I ended up saying something really rude to a customer at the shop... The customer was kind enough to just laugh it off, but... I think I need to fix that habit I have!

"You’re fine the way you are!"

Emily:
No, I’m telling you, it’s a problem! You’re no help at all! Arrgh! No matter what YOU say, I’m going to try every day to watch my words more!

"You can do it, Emily!" — CORRECT ANSWER

Emily:
I dunno about that... But hearing you say it makes me think it might be possible, Jimmy-Dean. Maybe I can’t fix it right away, but I’m going to try every day to watch my words more! It’s the strangest thing... When I look at you, I feel like I can handle anything! I mean... Never mind! I feel better now that I’ve talked to you about it. Thanks for listening to me blab!

"Is that even possible?"

Emily:
Lot of help you are! I can do it if I put my mind to it! No matter what YOU say, I’m going to try every day to watch my words more!

4. Made with Love

Trigger: Complete Emily's first eight requests, then speak to her in front of your house on Monday or Tuesday between 10 AM and 6 PM.

Emily:
Uh... Jimmy-Dean, do you have a sec? You have a kitchen at your house, right? Could I... uh... borrow it? Just let me use your kitchen, okay? Come on! Super! Let’s go over to your place right now!

(The scene shifts to the inside the main character's house.)

Emily:
So... what’s happening is... You’re always helping me out, and now I’m going to cook something nice for you! Uh... I’ve been thinking for a while that I wanted to make you something hot from the kitchen! So you stay put! It won’t take me long to whip up a meal!

(The scene shifts to the main character sitting at the table with Emily standing nearby.)

Emily:
So, how’s it taste? Is it good?

"It’s delicious." — CORRECT ANSWER

Emily:
Really? You mean it? Wow, I’m glad to hear that! So, do you think I could be a good wife? Uh... Forget I said that! You’re always there to listen when I need to talk. And you’ve helped me out with so much stuff. And cooking a meal was the only thing I could think of to show my appreciation... I’m so glad you enjoyed it! That makes me super duper happy! It’s a great feeling to cook for someone that you... um... yeah, to cook for someone!

(The scene shifts to the main character and Emily standing in front of the table.)

Emily:
Sorry that I kind of ambushed you like that. I should go on home. See you around, Jimmy-Dean.

"Not bad..."

Emily:
Wha--? “Not bad”... Is that it?! I guess I need to keep working on my cooking skills... But I really do appreciate all you do for me... And cooking a meal was the only thing I could think of to show my appreciation... I promise I’ll make you a really delicious meal one of these days... and you better promise to eat it!

(The scene shifts to the main character and Emily standing in front of the table.)

Emily:
Sorry that I kind of ambushed you like that. I should go on home. See you around, Jimmy-Dean.

"It’s...edible..."

Emily:
Aw, I’m sorry... Looks like I blew it...

1. Tsundere Twintails

Trigger: Finish Catherine's first two requests and visit Moon Valley on Friday between 1 PM and 6 PM.

Doc:
Bim-boom-kaboom!!! If it isn't my ol' pal, Jimmy-Dean! When I saw the hairstyle of this girl... ....it gave me the inspiration for an invention! Boom!!! And now I've got to rush back and make it! Gotta go go go! Back to the lab! I'm outta here, Jimmy-Dean!

(Doc runs off, leaving Catherine appalled.)

Catherine:
Oh...! What do YOU want?

"Are you okay?" — CORRECT ANSWER

Catherine:
Tsk tsk! No concern of yours! I was merely observing that strange man, since I have never seen anyone like him around our estate before. I do not recall requesting YOUR assistance. I will thank you kindly to mind your own business! I am perfectly capable of handling myself! I am my father's daughter, after all...!

"You seem awfully jumpy."

Catherine:
How unspeakably rude! Why would I be frightened of a mere eccentric?! Tsk Tsk!

"What's with the weird hair?"

Catherine:
How DARE you! I never could understand the vulgar tastes of commoners. My FATHER says my hair looks SPLENDID.

Well excuuuuse me, Princess!

2. A Stalker Is You

Trigger: Finish Catherine's first four requests, then enter the screen by your house on Wednesday between 3 PM and 6 PM.

Iris:
Well, hello there, Jimmy-Dean! I bet you're busy as a beaver like always But you're taking good care of your health, right? When I see how energetic you always are, it makes me feel more energetic, too! Tee-hee! Hmm...Is someone spying on you, Jimmy-Dean?

(The scene shifts to Catherine hiding a short distance away. Totally not obvious at all, Catherine.)

Catherine:
Just what do you think YOU'RE doing? Why are you following me? How dare you!!

"Why are you running away?"

Catherine:
Is it your habit to chase people like a dog? Though even a dog has better manners than you! Now get out of my sight! Speaking with lowly peasants like you offends me. Go mingle with other common folk.

"Why shouldn't I?"

Catherine:
Why? You would know if you had a brain in that head! What a dull-witted oaf you are! Now get out of my sight! Speaking with lowly peasants like you offends me. Go mingle with other common folk.

"I thought you looked lonely." — CORRECT ANSWER

Catherine:
Of all the--! What an absurd thing to say! I am merely observing how the commoners speak amongst themselves. And commoners should associate strictly with other commoners, to be sure! I am not one of your lowly rabble. I live on an estate with many servants at my beck and call! My father is extremely busy with his work, so he is often absent from the estate, but... In his absence, I ensure that things are properly managed! So you see that my aristocratic lifestyle has nothing in common with your meager grubbing. Now desist from following me! Good DAY!

3. Not for Your Sake!

Trigger: Finish Catherine's first six requests, then visit the Goddess Spring on Saturday between 1 PM and 8 PM.

Catherine:
What can I help you with? What am -I- doing at the Harvest Goddess Spring? Tsk tsk! That is no concern of yours! If you MUST know...I am thinking about my father. He has been away in a distant town working for quite some time now...

???:
Who’s that? Ah, Jimmy-Dean!

(Tabitha materializes in a puff of smoke.)

Tabitha:
I perfected a new magic medicine, and I was searching for a guinea pi-- ah, for someone who would try it out! I’m sure you’re eager to gulp it down, aren’t you, Jimmy-Dean?

Catherine:
What are you up to now, Tabitha?! Are you trying to feed one of your potions to Jimmy-Dean?!

Tabitha:
Don’t worry! Don’t you worry! It is 100% guaranteed to probably work! Pleeeeeease, Jimmy-Dean?

Catherine:
Wait just a moment! I forbid you to drink that potion, Jimmy-Dean!

(Captain Doormat quaffs the potion and promptly passes out.)

Catherine:
Aiiieeee!! Jimmy-Dean!!

Tabitha:
Hm? Hmm... That’s strange...

(The scene fades to black.)

???:
I reckon he’s fine...

(The scene shifts to the inside of the main character's house, with Tabitha, Catherine, and Hunter present.)

Catherine:
His eyes are open...

Tabitha:
Sorry about that! Slight miscalculation! I’ll definitely have it sorted out for next time!

Catherine:
Next time?! Do you intend to feed Jimmy-Dean more of your foul concoctions?

Tabitha:
Looks like he had no idea what happened to him. You fainted at the spring, and Catherine called this big lug over to help

Catherine:
It... It was merely that the sight of someone falling unconscious right in front of me was disquieting! I wasn’t worried in particular about YOU!

"Thanks anyway." — CORRECT ANSWER

Catherine:
What?! How impertinent! Why must you be such a gullible bumpkin?! That is how you get into these situations! Wise up! You’re hopeless! Tsk!

(Catherine runs off.)

Tabitha:
You know what, Jimmy-Dean? She never left your side until you woke up. She’s a softie, really. After all, you’re a good-looking guy, for a human. Again, I am really sorry about what happened! I know you’ll forgive me! I’m going to go back and fix that potion. The World’s Number One Witch never fails! See you later, Jimmy-Dean.

Hunter:
Looks like y’all’s doin’ just fine now, so I’ll be goin’. But take it easy for a while, hear?

"I wouldn’t expect you to."

Catherine:
No... Nor should you expect it! Why would I do anything for the likes of you?! Enough of your tomfoolery! It makes me physically ill!

"Did I ask for your help?"

Catherine:
And what do you mean by THAT? You impertinent buffoon! Enough of your tomfoolery! It makes me physically ill! Tsk!

(Catherine runs off.)

Tabitha:
You know what, Jimmy-Dean? She never left your side until you woke up. She’s a softie, really. After all, you’re a good-looking guy, for a human. Again, I am really sorry about what happened! 4. The Lady Doth Protest Too Much

Trigger: Complete Catherine's first eight requests, then speak to Catherine by your house on Wednesday between 3 PM to 7 PM.

Catherine:
Well, if it isn’t Jimmy-Dean! Tsk tsk! With that buffoonish grin on your face as always! Be that as it may, have there been any further issues? Have you forgotten that you fainted away after drinking Tabitha’s potion?! Have you… Have you any proper sense of self-preservation at all?! Do you fail to appreciate how important you are to all the people who have come to this place?! If anything were to happen to you, it would be devastating to many others! Therefore, you MUST stop agreeing to every reckless request that comes your way! And, above all, if you go and faint again, it will be a nuisance to ME, so I forbid it! Do you understand me?

"Yes, I’m sorry."

Catherine:
So you say, but you will still agree to whatever the next harebrained request is, won’t you? That is JUST the sort of man you are! It’s quite plain for me to see! Tsk tsk! Of you think a little apology will get you off the hook with ME, you are QUITE mistaken!

"Yes, and thank you." — CORRECT ANSWER

Catherine:
Thank you?! Your response to that kind of scolding is “Thank you”? You should be furious with me! After all the nasty things I have said to you…! You are a perplexing man! And despite all my protestations, you will go right ahead and accept the next harebrained request, will you not? That is quite plain for me to see. You are a soft-hearted, soft-brained fool! At the very least, will you refrain from recklessness?!

"Who asked your opinion?"

Catherine:
I never heard such an impertinent person! After all I have said…! Very well, then! Suit yourself! Do any reckless thing you like! Tsk tsk!

1. In Search of a Muse

Trigger: Finish Andrea's first two requests, then speak to her in Moon Valley on Sunday between 10 AM and 6 PM.

Andrea:
Oh, it's you. Is there anything you need from me? Huh? No? Okay, then. Sorry, I'm not blowing you off or anything...I was just thinking about a new design for a clock... If I talk to someone inspiring, I might get some fresh ideas.

Introduce Sam

Andrea:
Ah, a merchant. That might be interesting...

(Sam appears and a short scene follows with Andrea and Sam conversing.)

Andrea:
Hmm...Well, that was kind of helpful... As a creator, it was helpful to hear the point of view of someone who sells things... It didn't help me come up with any ideas, though... But thanks anyway Jimmy-Dean. That was very kind of you.

Introduce Doc

Andrea:
An inventor? Hmm... That sounds interesting.

(Doc appears and a short scene follows with Andrea and Doc conversing.)

Andrea:
Hmm...Well, that was really inspiring. I share something in common with the inventor, in that we both aspire to create something. It might have been a little TOO inspiring if you will... But thanks anyway, Jimmy-Dean. That was very kind of you.

"How about me?" — CORRECT ANSWER

Andrea:
You find yourself inspiring? Heh... You are quite an odd duck... Well, since you're here, let's have a chat, then...

(A short scene follows with Andrea and the main character conversing.)

Andrea:
Ah, I see. You aren't originally from here. I completely understand why you were attracted to this place. The time moves at a pleasant pace here. I quite like it. Well, that was quite refreshing. This may help me come up with some new ideas. Thank you, Jimmy-Dean. This was quite enjoyable.

2. All Work and No Play

Trigger: Finish Andrea's first four requests, then speak to her in Moon Valley on Thursday or Sunday between 10 AM and 6 PM.

Andrea:
Ah, it's you... I was thinking about my clock design. It's refreshing to come here, but I get carried away sometimes... What kind of clocks do you like, by the way?

"Why don't you take a little break?" — CORRECT ANSWER

Andrea:
Hmm... You're right. I know I shouldn't work so hard, but sometimes, I just can't help myself. It's kind of a bad habit of mine... That's when it's best to have someone let me know that I'm working too hard. So, thanks a lot. That's why, if it's OK with you, I'd like you to come along with me to get some fresh air.

"Extravagant clocks."

Andrea:
Extravagant clocks, huh? I'll put jewelry all over it to make it gorgeous and glamorous.

"Functional clocks."

Andrea:
Functional clocks... I'll include a self-winding function, a calendar, an alarm...
A calendar and alarm, you say? Sign me up!

3. A Place with Heart

Trigger: Finish Andrea's first six requests, then speak to her in Moon Valley on Thursday or Sunday between 10 AM and 6 PM.

Andrea:
May I talk to you about something, Jimmy-Dean? I want to ask you about some new ideas I have for my next clock. I don’t want my clock to rush people. I want it to inform how important time is. That’s the kind of clock I want to make. I’m not sure if I can describe it well, but it’s not about the look of it. It should make people feel happy when they see it... Hmm... Where do you think I should go to get some inspiration?

"Moon Valley."

Andrea:
Moon Valley? You mean right here? Well, the sunset from here is really beautiful. It’s relaxing to watch it. I come here often, though, so I’m not sure if I’ll get any new inspiration... I’m sorry, I appreciate your suggestion, though.

"The Harvest Goddess Spring."

Andrea:
The Harvest Goddess Spring... It’s a really beautiful place. It’s truly befitting of the Harvest Goddess. It’s a sacred place, though. That’s not the image I’m looking for... I’m sorry. I appreciate your suggestion, though.

"The Blessed Tree." — CORRECT ANSWER

Andrea:
The Blessed Tree...? It’s a big tree near your house, you say? Hmm... I haven’t really explored that area yet... It sounds interesting, though. May I come see it?

(The scene shifts to the Blessed Tree.)

Andrea:
Oh my... What an amazing tree. I had no idea there was a tree like this here... It makes me feel nostalgic, somehow... It gives me a sense of relief to be around it... I wish I had known about that place earlier. Thank you very much, Jimmy-Dean.

(The scene shifts back to Moon Valley.)

Andrea:
Thank you for showing me this special place. I had a pleasant time with you. Thank you very much.

4. Leave Time for Love

Trigger: Finish Andrea's first eight requests, then exit the house the day afterward.

(Andrea is outside the main character's house, gazing at the Blessed Tree.)

Andrea:
Good morning, Jimmy-Dean. As soon as I woke up, I felt the urge to come here. So I came right over. I feel relaxed when I am here...

"Are you feeling all right?"

Andrea:
There’s nothing wrong with me. Don’t worry. I just wanted to come here. And I’m glad I did. I got to see you this early in the day. Um.... Forget what I just said... In any case, this will help me get through the day. See you later, Jimmy-Dean.

"Stop by anytime!" — CORRECT ANSWER

Andrea:
I will. Thank you. I’m glad to hear that. And I’m glad I got to see you this early in the day. Um.... Forget I just said that... I just wanted you to know that I feel at ease when I talk to you. In any case, this will help me get through the day. See you later, Jimmy-Dean.

"Does it help you come up with ideas?"

Andrea:
No... I wasn’t thinking about my work... Don’t worry about it. It’s not a problem. I just felt like coming here. And I’m glad I did. I got to see you this early in the day. Um.... Forget what I just said... In any case, this will help me get through the day. See you later, Jimmy-Dean.

Poppa would never let me... Plus...it’s not like I know how to do any other jobs. So even if I hate it, I have no choice but to keep on being a blacksmith.

"Just keep trying!"

Tony:
I AM trying! I’m constantly trying my best... But if my best just isn’t good enough...what’s the point? So even if I hate it, I have no choice but to keep on being a blacksmith.

(The scene fades out and back in at the mine closest to Moon Valley. Tony looks around curiously.)

Tony:
Whoa... I never knew such a place existed. I...uh...kind of like it here... It... It reminds me of the smithy, actually. It has that kind of atmosphere... Banging on metal and shaping it into anything you want... It’s actually pretty cool when you think about it. The glow of heated iron, the sound of metal clanging on metal... To me, it’s actually soothing... Um... Sorry... I’m just babbling for some reason.

"Yeah, you’re boring me."

Tony:
Ugh... Sorry... But anyway...thanks for taking me along. I’d never seen a place like this before. It was cool.

(The scene shifts back to Moon Valley and the event ends.)

"Let’s change the subject."

Tony:
Right...something else...like...uh... Actually, I... Uh... I don’t know how to talk about anything but being a blacksmith... But anyway...thanks for taking me along. I’d never seen a place like this before. It was cool.

(The scene shifts back to Moon Valley and the event ends.)

"I find it interesting..." — CORRECT ANSWER

Tony:
You...uh...really think so? Wow... Thanks... So then...you know...

(The scene fades out as time passes, then fades back in when the conversation is wrapping up.)

Tony:
Yeah... Sorry... I need to do better...so I don’t have to depend on you to whip me into shape...

"I think he’s a good father." — CORRECT ANSWER

Tony:
Huh?! Are you serious...? You’re really not like other people, Violet. S-Sorry... I didn’t mean that in a bad way. It’s just that my poppa scares most people... I’m surprised that you... Well, anyway, thanks, Violet. I need to do better...so I don’t have to depend on you to whip me into shape...

"It seems like it’s tough."

Tony:
Yeah... Well, what he said is true... I AM useless... I need to do better...so I don’t have to depend on you to whip me into shape...

4. Resolve

Trigger: Finish Tony's first eight requests, then talk to him in Moon Valley on Tuesday or Friday between 10 AM and 6 PM.

Tony:
Um... Hey... Can I tell you something really quick...? I decided I’m gonna try and become a blacksmith after all...I don’t have much self-confidence now, but... I’m going to try to build some up... Even though my poppa is hard on me...I do like the work of being a blacksmith... I’m going to keep at it! I just... really wanted to tell you that, Violet. And...uh...I felt like once I did that, I’d be able to really do my best.

"You can do your best now?"

Tony:
Yeah. Thanks for hearing me out. I really am going to give it my best shot.

"That’s it?"

Tony:
Uh... Yeah... Sorry... But thanks for hearing me out. I really am going to give it my best shot.

"I’m behind you all the way!" — CORRECT ANSWER

Tony:
Great! Hearing you say that makes me even more ready to give it my best shot! So...yeah... Thanks. It’s all because of you that I decided to go for it. I really am going to give it my best shot.

1. Fishes and Wishes

Trigger: Complete Gilbert's first two quests, then speak to him at the Goddess Spring on Monday or Thursday between 8 PM and 2 AM.

Gilbert:
Ho there, Violet. A pleasant evening, is it not? When last we met, I taught you fishing... Have you caught all the fish you were wishing? Crystal clear water from the Harvest Goddess Spring makes fish thrive and grab the bait off the string! And as the seasons change, so do the fish that you can catch! Fishing is my great passion. Do you feel about it in the same fashion?

"I’m sick of it!"

Gilbert:
Ho ho! The thrill is gone? Such moods I too have come upon... Yet hours spent listening to the water flowing and the feeling on your skin of the breeze blowing make it a pastime well worth knowing. Fish you have hooked get away? It happens every day. Should you fish more than is needed, the health of the river and its environs is impeded! You should fish at your own pace. Fishing is not a race!

"It’s fun!" — CORRECT ANSWER

Gilbert:
Ho ho! Now you have been hooked by fishing! Another time, we shall speak more of fishing! And I hope, go fishing together!

"It’s tiring."

Gilbert:
True, true, fishing can tire. Try to relax and enjoy it a bit. Yet listening to the water flowing and feeling the breeze flowing make it a pastime well worth knowing. Fish you have hooked get away? It happens every day. Should you fish more than is needed, the health of the river and its environs is impeded! You should fish at your own pace. Fishing is not a race!

2. Wanderer's Path

Trigger: Complete Gilbert's first four requests, then visit the Goddess Spring on Monday or Thursday night between 8 PM and 2 AM.

(When you arrive, Gilbert is playing music for the animals again. This time, the main character's presence doesn't scare them away.)

Gilbert:
Once the animals fled from my music’s strains, but this time they remained. For listening to my performance, I thank you. We stand in a place of great wonder... Where miraculous blessings resound like thunder. And we owe this to your efforts, Violet. Ho ho! I grow fond of this place! But I am one born to wander... Someday I must up stakes and venture yonder.

"You can’t go!" — CORRECT ANSWER

Gilbert:
I thank you for your heartfelt plea. I swell with joy that you value me! But I was never one for staying. Off hither and yon I must be straying. Ah, away with that downcast face! I will remain a while longer in this place! Come again and see me here. We will talk and have good cheer! So that when my day comes to go away, no regrets will intrude on the parting words we say.

"Will you come back?"

Gilbert:
Ah... There’s no saying... But I was never one for staying. Off hither and yon I must be straying. Ah, away with that downcast face! I will remain a while longer in this place!

"If that’s what you must do."

Gilbert:
My words are an unpleasant surprise? For that I do apologize. But I was never one for staying. Off hither and yon I must be straying. Ah, away with that downcast face! I will remain a while longer in this place!

3. Migratory Bird of the Wilderness

Trigger: Complete Gilbert's first six requests, then visit the area in front of your house between 8 PM and 12 AM.

(When you enter, Gilbert is admiring the Blessed Tree.)

Gilbert:
Ho, Violet! I sensed that you would come. Where do I go? Someplace, where I do not know. I am a traveler...a drifter...outward bound. I bring trouble to settled ground. The seeds I gave you grew into a splendid tree. Having seen that happen, it’s back on the road for me. Indeed, I have already stayed too long...

(The main character shakes her head in protest, troubled.)

Gilbert:
Why is your desire for me to stay so strong?

"I’d feel lonely without you."

Gilbert:
I can read your heart like an open book. Now I’m in a bind... To go when you’ve said so much would be unkind... So today will not be the day I leave this place behind! You need not worry. I will not sneak away in a hurry. I swear a bard’s oath on it.

"It’s what’s best for you." — CORRECT ANSWER

Gilbert:
For me...? You are indeed a person of a most unusual kind. Very well. Today will not be the day I leave this place behind! You need not worry. I will not sneak away in a hurry. I swear a bard’s oath on it. Ho ho! Never before in my traveling to and fro has someone persuaded me not to go!

"I don’t know."

Gilbert:
You are indeed a person of a most unusual kind. There is really no reason to leave just now, I find. So today will not be the day I leave this place behind! You need not worry. I will not sneak away in a hurry. I swear a bard’s oath on it.

4. The Place I'll Return to Someday

Trigger: Complete Gilbert's first eight requests, then speak to him at the Goddess Spring on Monday or Thursday from 8 PM to 2 AM.

Gilbert:
Ho, Violet. Another marvelous evening. I have pondered much since we spoke that day. Will you now hear what I have to say? Why do I love to trek roads open and wide? Because of the people I meet on the roadside. But no man can drift forever, ‘tis truly said. He must at last find a home to lay down his weary head. Perhaps all along what I sought afar... ...was a place to come home to, my own north star. The Blessed Seeds chose here to sink their roots. What if here I too hang up my wandering boots...? How would you feel about that, Violet?

"Only you can decide that."

Gilbert:
How right you are, right as can be! This decision can be made only by me. My thanks, Violet. I shall not give up my journeying ways, but shall always return here, where my heart stays. A home to which I can return! Just that for which I have always yearned.

"That’s a wise decision."

Gilbert:
Wise or unwise, who can say...? But that is my decision today. I shall not give up my journeying ways, but shall always return here, where my heart stays. A home to which I can return! Just that for which I have always yearned.

"Yes! Please stay!" — CORRECT ANSWER

Gilbert:
My thanks, Violet. That I am valued here fills me with cheer. I shall not give up my journeying ways, but shall always return here, where my heart stays. A home to which I can return! Just that for which I always yearned. I am grateful to the Blessed Seeds, for I came to this place by following their lead! And meeting you, Violet, was a blessing indeed.

Sam:

2. The Wizard's Advice

(When you arrive, Luke has accosted Gareth, much to the latter's dismay.)

Luke:
Please, Wizard! Please tell me all about herbal and magic medicine!

Gareth:
As I told you before, there is no point in telling you humans about it...

Luke:
Please tell me! I could help so many people!

Gareth:
As I said...

(The main character approaches the two of them.)

Gareth:
Violet... You showed up at the perfect time... Sorry, but I must be going.

(Gareth disappears in a puff of smoke.)

Luke:
Hey! He’s gone... I want to find out what the Wizard knows about medicine... Think about it. If I could use magic like the Wizard...

"You don’t need magic..." — CORRECT ANSWER

Luke:
You’re right... Even without special powers, I can create something wonderful! Thanks for cheering me up, Violet! I’m feeling better now! I’m gonna keep at it, no matter what! Anyway, have a good night, Violet. It’s getting late, so we should both be heading home!

"It might work..."

Luke:
Yeah, maybe... But no matter how much I try, I’ll never reach the level of the Witch or Wizard... But I’m gonna at least try to get close! Anyway, have a good night, Violet.

"It could be dangerous..."

Luke:
Yeah, you have a point... When it comes to my research, I tend to be too focused to see what’s around me. I should be more careful not to get too preoccupied. Anyway, have a good night, Violet.

3. The Witch's Woe

Trigger: Finish Luke's first six requests, then enter the screen where your house is on Friday or Saturday between 10 AM and 6 PM.

(When you arrive, you'll find Luke pleading with an exasperated Tabitha.)

*Whew!* Violet! Perfect timing! Gareth told me that I should come here to meet an interesting guy... But all he talks about is medicine! BO---RING! *sigh*... Why aren’t there more attractive guys around here? So, I’m leaving YOU to deal with him, Violet! Good luck!

(Tabitha disappears in a puff of smoke before anyone can point out that she is always talking about Magic Medicine herself.)

Luke:
Aw, man... I wanted to ask her more about magic medicine... Ah, am I boring you with all the medicine talk?

"Sometimes..."

Luke:
Oh, I see... Sorry, I guess I just get carried away sometimes... One of my jobs is to talk to customers at the pharmacy, so I guess I need to learn how to talk about things that aren’t about medicine... If I practice talking to you, do you think I’ll get better at it?

"I’m surprised you noticed."

Luke:
One of my jobs is to talk to customers at the pharmacy. I guess I need to learn how to talk about things that aren’t about medicine... If I practice talking to you, do you think I’ll get better at it?

"You’re just a passionate guy." — CORRECT ANSWER

Luke:

Trigger: Finish Luke's first eight requests, then talk to him in front of your house on Friday or Sunday between 10 AM and 6 PM.

Luke:
You look overwhelmed with all the work you’re doing. Have you been taking good care of yourself?

(The main character nods.)

Luke:
Hmm... You sure? You look a little pale... Are you really OK?

(She nods her head wearily and suddenly collapses at Luke's feet, to his great shock and alarm.)

Luke:
Violet! Get up!!!

(The scene fades out and shifts to the inside of the main character's house, lying in her bed. After a brief moment, her eyes flutter open.)

Luke:
Ah, you’re awake!

(The scene fades out briefly as she gets out of bed.)

Luke:
I carried you all the way here... Looks like you’ve got a fever. How are you feeling now? You should rest for awhile. You must be exhausted! I was pretty worried there for a sec! Here, here’s some medicine for you to take. Well, I don’t want to bother you while you’re trying to get some rest, so I’ll head home now. Take care of yourself!

"I’m sorry..."

Luke:
You don’t need to apologize to me! You just need to rest until you recover! Remember: take care of yourself!

"Can you stay a bit longer...?" — CORRECT ANSWER

Luke:
Um... S-Sure! I sure can do that if you think it will make you feel better... I’ll stay here a little longer, but please get some rest!

(The scene fades out as time passes, then fades back in.)

Luke:
You look much better now! Awesome! But remember: you gotta take it easy for a while! Make sure you go to bed early tonight! If there’s anything I can help you with, just let me know! Well then, I’ll be on my way! Have a good night!
