The Basics
Introduction
Welcome to SBAllen's guide to Taiko no Tatsujin: Don and Katsu's Space-Time Big Adventure (太鼓の達人 どんとかつの時空大冒険). This is the second 3DS game in the Taiko no Tatsujin series. The gameplay focuses around playing a taiko drum in time with the music on the screen. This game also features a story mode complete with recruitable characters, sidequests, and more. It's also the first handheld Taiko no Tatsujin game to offer DLC.
How to Play
This game can be played in two different ways, either by using the touchscreen or by using the buttons. Regardless of input type, there are basically two positions that you want to hit your drum, on the face or on the edge (you can hit the edge or anywhere outside of the drum in this game). You play the drum using two hands, which you represent by either using two styluses or by using the buttons/pads found on either side of your 3DS. There are several different types of notes that you'll have to play:
"Don" note. These are played by hitting the drum head with one or both sticks.
"Katsu" note. These are played by hitting outside the drum with one or both sticks.
"Do~n" note. These are played by hitting the drum head with both sticks.
"Ka~tsu" note. These are played by hitting outside the drum with both sticks.
"Ren touch", or drumroll note. These are played by repeatedly hitting anywhere with both sticks for the duration.
"Fuusen", or balloon note. These are played by repeatedly hitting the drum head with both sticks until it pops.
"Kusudama" note. These are played by repeatedly hitting the drum head with both sticks until it opens.
When playing with the buttons, the default controls have L and R acting as outside "katsu" strikes and everything else acting as drum head "don" strikes. I find this to be a bit clumsy and prefer one of the alternate setups where the face buttons and d-pad are a mix of don and katsu strikes.
As you play a song, you'll see the bar at the bottom fill up and empty based on your performance. To clear a song, the bar needs to be in the yellow Clear area when the song ends.
Main Menu
Play Game
This is the basic playing mode of the game. In this mode, you can play any song, including songs unlocked by Stamps or any DLC that you have purchased. You can use L and R to jump between song genres or the two 7 buttons on the touchscreen to jump left or right 7 songs.
In the middle of the bottom row there's a box with an icon in it. Tapping this button lets you select the Difficulty: Simple (かんたん), Normal (ふつう), Difficult (むずかしい), or Demon (おに).
The yellow button to the right of this one houses the Options. The top selection allows you to cycle through the Taiko Sounds you've unlocked. Taiko (太鼓) is the only one unlocked by default. The next option down lets you modify the speed of the notes with any speed modifiers you've unlocked. Double speed (ばいそく) is the only one unlocked by default. The next option down allows you to toggle more options. The default unlocked option is Auto (オート), in which the game will play the song automatically so you can see/hear a full combo. The final option allows you to turn on any note modifiers that you've unlocked. Whimsical (きまぐれ) is the only one unlocked by default.
When you clear a song on a particular difficulty, you can earn one of two crowns. You earn a silver crown simply by completing the song on the given difficulty. You can earn a gold crown by earning a full combo when you clear the stage.
Space-Time Big Adventure
This is the game's story mode. It is covered in extensive detail in the Space-Time Big Adventure Walkthrough found later in the guide.
Dress-Up
In this mode, you can change Don-chan's colors and his head/body equipment with any that you have unlocked. For a comprehensive list of all of the available colors, body, and head equipment that you can unlock, look no further than the Dress-Up List later in the guide.
Stamp Collection
This option shows you a list of all of the Stamps that you have unlocked so far, along with some that you have yet to earn. As with everything else in the game, you can find a full exhaustive list of Stamps later in the guide.
Streetpass
Here is where you can set up your own Streetpass profile along with viewing the profiles of others that you have Streetpassed with.
Set up your own profile under the first option. The first option allows you to set a Challenge for those who Streetpass you to try to beat. You can obviously only select from song/difficulty combinations that you have already completed. The second option allows you to share one of your Companions from the Space-Time Big Adventure so that anyone who Streetpasses you can unlock that Companion. The third option allows you to select Don-chan's pose. The final option allows you to set a comment for the person to read.
Back at the menu, the second option allows you to look at the profile of those you have Streetpassed. On the list that comes up, hitting X will set a profile as a favorite. When viewing a profile, the first option allows you to play the Challenge that they have set. The second option allows you to recruit their Companion. The final option will delete this profile from your list.
The final option on the menu toggles the Streetpass functionality on and off. Be sure it is set to On if you want to Streetpass in this game.
Additional Content
Here you can access the game's DLC and purchase it. If you're interested in seeing what is available, you can jump right to the DLC portion of the guide.
Communication Play
This mode allows you to play versus mode with anyone else in the room who has the game. I'll hopefully have more information on this mode soon as I currently have no one I can play against.

Prologue
| New Companions |
|---|
| Takkun |
| Demon Boy |
The first time you begin this mode, you'll be asked to pick your difficulty. The easiest difficulty will have you playing songs on Simple or Normal difficulty. The medium difficulty puts you up against Normal or Difficult songs. The hard difficulty chooses from Difficult or Demon songs. Pick whichever you'd like as you can change this later.
After the cutscene, Takkun will join you as a Companion. You'll receive a brief tutorial on combat and launch into battle against Pietro. Basically, you want to hit notes to attack the opponents in battle. The faster the character's speed, the more often they will attack. Missing notes will lead to the opponent attacking you. Hitting bombs will do damage to your team.
Pietro has a special attack that he uses where he fills the screen with purple kisses to try to distract you. Just focus on the bar and you'll be fine. Winning the battle earns 10 EXP and 30G.
After the cutscene, you'll be launched into another battle with a Demon Boy. You'll earn 2 EXP and 3G after and the Demon Boy will join as a Companion. You can name him whatever you wish. The default name is Onimaru. After a scene, we begin the first chapter.

Once we have reached the overworld map, it's best to take time to familiarize yourself with your settings. Immediately below you is a Time Portal. Interacting with it will allow you to either return to Don-chan's Room or recover health.
Taking a quick peek inside Don-chan's Room you'll see a journal that chronicles your adventure, a list of character files describing characters you've met, a difficulty selector, and a section for downloaded quests. The portal will allow you to jump between other portals that you have found, so be sure to click them when you see them.
Returning to the overworld, you can press the Y Button to bring up a map showing you where to find treasure and exits to other areas. The X Button will bring up the menu.
From the menu you can change your battle members, dress-up Don-chan, use items, get hints about how to play, check in on your Streetpass data, and save/quit your game. We can cover these in a bit more detail as we progress. Back on the overworld, the L Button is a shortcut to the Item menu and the R Button is a shortcut to the Battle Member menu.
Bring up your map. We want to head west to the Town of Owari, grabbing the treasure along the way. While walking around, you'll get into random encounters. After a battle ends, it's possible for one of the enemies to join you as a Companion if they have not already. When this happens, enter the Battle Member menu (R Button).
From this menu, you can select up to four Companions to enter battle for you. There are regular sized Companions and big Companions that take up two empty spaces. You can hit the Y Button to toggle between the various stats and abilities for each Companion.
If you can't decide who to put on your team, you can use the Random button to put together a team based on various characteristics, like the Tough Guy team, or a completely random team.
Stick to this zone until you've gotten all of the new recruits and earned some cash, then head into Town of Owari.

| [Head] Bandana | Recovery Medicine | 20G |

| 200G | [Head] Samurai Helmet | 75G |
| Recovery Medicine x8 | [Body] Thunder Drum | 50G |
| Life Charm | [Body] Samurai Armor | 75G |
| Drumroll Book | ||
First and foremost, visit the Time Portal in front of you to unlock it as a warp point and to heal up if you took any damage. Take a few steps to the west for some dialogue. Go east to find Ojisan who will give you a challenge. Complete it for a [Head] Bandana and a [Body] Field Work. This is as good a time as any to look at the Dress-Up menu. In the menu, select Dress-Up. From here, you can change Don-chan's color or equip Head and Body equipment you've unlocked. Pressing the Y Button with equipment highlighted will tell you what it does.
Look north from Ojisan and you should see a well. Go to the well and enter it. Climb out the other side to reach three chests containing 100G, Recovery Medicine x2, and a Life Charm.
Return to the main area again and go west. There is a shop next to the Obasan where you can buy some Head and Body pieces. North of the shop you'll see a Dog. Talk to it for a challenge which nets you 100G upon completion. Continue past the Dog and go up the narrow path to the north and examine the statue to find the Hide and Seek Master who will give you Recovery Medicine x5.
Go back down and east past the Dog and eventually you'll get some dialogue. Go to the area shown and walk up to the fourth building from the left for a scene.
Now head back west then north into the area with the large building. Across the bridge on the west side is a treasure chest housing a Recovery Medicine. Talk to the Girl on the east side to earn a Drumroll Book.
Leave the Town of Owari.
Pine Trail (Part 2)
| Treasure |
|---|
| Strength Charm |
Back at the Pine Trail, we'll get an immediate scene and the Charge Gauge will unlock. While playing songs, this gauge will slowly fill as you successfully hit notes. When it fills, you'll unleash a super strong attack against your enemies. Now, open your Map. We want to head to Ashihara Mountain, grabbing the chest along the way. You'll encounter a scene along the way as well.
Ashihara Mountain 1
| New Companion | Treasure |
|---|---|
| Nobunaga | 120G |
| Recruitable Companions | [Head] Side Pony |
| Gun Raccoon | [Body] Maiden Robe |
| Skull Shogun | Level Charm |
You'll get an immediate cutscene upon entering. Nobunaga will join as a Companion as well. Talk to the Time Portal to unlock it and recover your health if necessary. Go north to the Shrine and open the chest for 120G. The Maiden will tell your fortune for 10G. I'm not sure if this does anything. At the Shrine you can donate money. Donate 100G twice to earn [Head] Side Pony and [Body] Maiden Robe.
Head to the east now, being sure to grab the Level Charm from the treasure chest along the way. Take the zone to Ashihara Mountain 2.
Ashihara Mountain 2
| New Companion | Treasure |
|---|---|
| Jibanyan | Recovery Medicine x2 |
| Deadly Book |
Head to the east until you reach the chest containing Recovery Medicine x2. To the west you'll see two cats. Check between them to find Jibanyan (from Yokai Watch) who will join you as a Companion.
Continue to follow the path and enter the alcove for a chest that houses a Deadly Book. Continue north to come across another Time Portal. Activate it and recover health as per usual. A boss battle is coming up, so make sure you're happy with your party. Now is as good of a time as any to talk about Items since we haven't yet.
In the Item menu, you can use items to recover or to strengthen your team. So for instance, you can use a Strength Charm to raise a Companion's attack, or a Life Charm to raise their health. You can also use books to teach your Companions techniques if they don't have one already. You can use the Drumroll Book to teach someone Drumroll Demon, which makes them more likely to attack during Drumroll notes. You also have Deadly Book which teaches Satisfactory Blow, which causes damage to sometimes be higher. You can choose to use some of these items or save them for later.
It's also worth noting that there is a Stamp that you can earn for beating bosses at the hardest difficulty, so feel free to swap difficulty at the Time Portal if you're playing on a lower difficulty and want to try to earn the Stamp. When you're ready, head north.
Ashihara Mountain 3
| Treasure |
|---|
| 193G |
| Good Friend Spirit |
Take a few steps north and you'll get into a cutscene then a battle against the Ashihara Kid. He has quite a bit more health than the previous boss. He uses an attack that causes Lightning to rain down and block your vision. He can also disable your Charge Gauge. Defeat him for 60 EXP, 60G, and a scene. After the scene, grab the 193G from the nearby chest. To the east are two more chests. The red one contains a Good Friend Spirit. The silver one is locked. We'll have to come back for this one later.
Head south for another scene with the Ashihara Kid. You'll get Tikkun's Minute Hand key item. After the scene ends, you'll be prompted to save, so feel free to do so. After more cutscene action, you'll be in Don-chan's Room. Before we go to the next area, there is still more to do in the Warring States.
Paper Rock Scissors King
| Treasure |
|---|
| [Head] Ninja |
| [Body] Shuriken |
Take the Time Portal to the Town of Owari. Approach the Boy right next to the Time Portal for a scene. He'll challenge you to Paper Rock Scissors. Pick whichever one you think will win. If you lose, keep talking to him until you win. The quickest way is to just keep picking the same thing over and over until it finally wins.
Hop back into the Time Portal and exit at Ashihara Mountain 2. Walk north to Ashihara Mountain 3. You'll note a red portal when you zone in. You can use these to fight a boss again after beating it the first time. You can use this to fight the Ashihara Kid again at any time. If you couldn't beat him on the highest difficulty before, you can come back later when your party is stronger and try again.
At any rate, go north past the red portal and talk to the Ashihara Kid for a scene. Beat him in Paper Rock Scissors like you did the Boy. Go back to the Time Portal and return to the Town of Owari.
Go north and talk to Ichihime. Defeat her in Paper Rock Scissors to earn a [Head] Ninja and [Body] Shuriken. If you have recruited all of the potential Companions, you're done with this area for now, so feel free to go the mystery location from the Time Portal to start the next chapter.
Chapter 2: Chaos! Slapstick Wedding!
Lake Road
| New Companion | Recruitable Companions | Shop | [Head] Stump | 150G | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|

| [Head] Fawn | Mandrakora | [Head] Devil Head | 200G | [Body] Mystery Tree | 150G |
As you watch the introductory scene, Marie Antoinette will join you automatically. If you look at the map, you'll see Versailles Palace, which is the first destination. You'll also see a chest and a shop, but they can be hard to get to without getting the cutscene that makes you enter the Versailles Palace. Don't worry about it though as you'll only be in the Palace briefly then you'll zone out and have a chance to access them.
Versailles Palace
| Treasure |

| [Head] Iron Helmet |
| [Body] Wooden Shield |
| 250G |
After the scene inside, go to the Time Portal and unlock it/recover. Go up either flight of stairs and talk to the west guard in the hallway for a challenge. Complete it to score a [Head] Iron Helmet and a [Body] Wooden Shield.
Head north from here. If you go west there's a room full of treasure chests we can't open yet. Bummer. East leads to Marie's room, where you'll score a Tikkun's Gear key item after a scene. Grab the chest with 250G (and feel free to try to open her dresser) before leaving.
As you head back to the west, you'll get another scene. Afterwards, leave the Palace.
Lake Road (Part 2)
| New Companion | Treasure |
|---|---|
| Funassyi | [Head] Laurel |
| [Body] Icarus Wings |
Grab the treasure and do some shopping if you missed out before. Talk to the Oneesan in blue by the Palace as well. Go south, as if going back to the Time Portal. Right around where the path starts going west is a brown bird. Talk to it to get a Brown Bird key item. Return to Oneesan to receive a [Head] Laurel and [Body] Icarus Wings.
Begin heading west now. After crossing the bridge, you'll run into Funassyi, the talking pear mascot, who will join as a Companion. Continue north to enter the Church.

Inside the Church, activate the Time Portal and heal up. Head to the east. In the room with all the rows of books, enter the bookshelves from the south then go north to the room with the nun and the chests. Open them up for Recovery Medicine x3 and an Elixir Recipe key item. Proceed north to the next floor.
Church 2
| Treasure |

| Level Tail |
Head south from the stairs. Follow the path west then branch north and at the end you'll reach a chest containing a Level Tail. Return south and then go to the west all the way until you reach the stairs.
Church 1 (Part 2)
| Treasure | |
|---|---|
| Level Spirit | [Body] Autumn Forest Pals |
| Balloon Book | |
Head straight north into a bedroom. There is a chest here containing [Body] Autumn Forest Companions. Also, examine the statue in this room to find the Hide and Seek Master again and obtain a Level Spirit and a Balloon Book.
Church 2 (Part 2)
Simply walk west to...
Church 3
There's a Time Portal here. Activate/heal up. There's a boss fight here so change up your party to your strongest characters and bump up the difficulty if you want to try for the Stamp now. Head east then north for a scene. You'll battle Helga now. Her special is to drop pink bombs all over the screen. She can also freeze the Charge Gauge. Defeat her for 110 EXP and 120G. After the scene, you'll be prompted to save. After the scene, you'll be in Don-chan's Room. Like before, we have more business in Middle Ages Europe.
Miscellaneous Requests
| Treasure | Strength Tail x2 |
|---|---|
| 400G | Life Tail x2 |
Take the Time Portal to Versailles Palace. Talk to Elise. She'll ask for your Elixir Recipe key item, so hand it over for 400G.
Leave the Palace and reenter it. Talk to Elise again for another request, a Sand Mushroom. We can't get this right now so just remember it for later.
Talk to Louis for a challenge. Completing it earns you two Strength Tails and two Life Tails. Go back to Don-chan's Room and choose to venture into the unknown.
Chapter 3: Rampage! Ancient Dinosaurs Emerge!
Jungle
| Recruitable Companions | Treasure | |
|---|---|---|
| Egg Dragon | Stag Fly | Name Plate x3 |
| Ptero Cutter | Wild Cedar | Deadly Book |
Right after the cutscene you'll get thrown into a battle with a Driceratops. Defeat it and more cutscene action awaits. Look at the map and locate the two treasure chests, which are quite a ways out of the path to the next area. As tempting as they are, we won't be allowed to collect them quite yet. Focus on recruiting the new Companions as you head south. When you cross a bridge, look at the totem pole to the left of the south end of the bridge and talk to it to find the Hide and Seek Master who hands over 3 Name Plates and a Deadly Book. With your loot and new Companions in tow, head into Rakkio's Village.
Rakkio's Village
| Shop | Treasure | ||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Recovery Medicine | 20G | [Head] Fossil | 300G | Power Honey x3 | Life Blessing x2 |
| Recovery Medicine 2 | 50G | [Body] Coleoptera Body | 400G | [Head] Wild Hair | 333G |
| [Head] Beetle Bug | 400G | [Body] Butterfly Wings | 300G | [Body] Beast Clothing | Name Plate |
| [Head] Butterfly | 300G | [Body] Dinosaur | 400G | Power Blessing x2 | |
| [Head] Tyrannosaurus | 400G | [Body] Fossil | 300G | ||
There is plenty to do in this village, so let's get started. You should see a chest right away, so open it to obtain 3 Power Honey. Go south across the bridge and talk to the blue dinosaur Boy who will issue you a challenge. Completing the challenge earns you [Head] Wild Hair and [Body] Beast Clothing. East of the Boy you'll find the Time Portal which you'll want to click to activate.
Just north and west from the Boy you'll find a shop full of new Head and Body equipment to spend your money on. West from the shop you'll see a brown dinosaur Oniisan who issues a challenge. Clear it and you'll gain 2 Power Blessings and 2 Life Blessings.
Southwest from Oniisan is an alcove with a chest containing 333G. Go north and head west at the cat. Go all the way until it dead ends to get a Name Plate from a chest. You can hop in the onsen here as well if you want, but it doesn't seem to do anything.
That's it for now, so head to the southeast to exit back to the Jungle.
Jungle (Part 2)
| New Companions | Treasure |
|---|---|
| Mon | Life Blessing x2 |
| Han | [Head] Lion |
I know you're eager to get that treasure, but first let's head to the bottom right dead end. There will be a scene and you'll enter a battle where you're forced to make a party using Mon and Han, who join you as Companions. This opponent has a lot of health so bring in strong characters.
After winning the battle, head north then east before the bridge and we can finally open those chests. The closest one contains 2 Life Blessings and the farthest one contains a [Head] Lion.
Go back to the bridge and cross it, following the path all the way to the end where you'll find some mushrooms along with a fight in the form of two Ptero Cutters. Win the fight for the Niga Mushroom key item. Return back to Rakkio's Village.
Rakkio's Village (Part 2)
| New Companion | Treasure |
|---|---|
| Rakkio | [Body] Spring Forest Pals |
After the cutscene, Rakkio will join as a Companion. Head to the shop and buy 15 Recovery Medicine 2. Talk to the purple dinosaur Heishi and give him the medicine you just bought and he'll give you the [Body] Spring Forest Pals. Afterwards, exit the village to the northwest.
Fire Mountain 1
| Recruitable Companions | Treasure | |
|---|---|---|
| Driceratops | Himaki Lizard | Life Honey |
| Fossil Dragon | Magma Nokarisu | |
Head north to find a Time Portal. Unlock it and indulge in its healing powers. Beside it is a chest with Life Honey inside it. Head north to the next screen.
Fire Mountain 2
| Treasure | |
|---|---|
| Life Meat | Recovery Medicine 2 x2 |
After the scene, go north until the path splits, then take the east path to reach a chest containing a Life Meat. Head west then follow the path until it veers off to the north. Take that branch to find a chest that supplies you with a pair of Recovery Medicine 2s. Return back then head east until you reach the zone.
Fire Mountain 3
Follow the winding path until you reach the Time Portal. Unlock it and heal up. The boss is directly to the north, so change up your party and set the difficulty to the appropriate level.
Gigant Rex is a huge boss. You'll only see his head on the screen during the battle until he uses his special attack where he turns around and slams his tail on the ground, filling the bottom with magma and rocks. This attack is much worse than any you've dealt with up until this point, making it extremely hard to see the screen. Like other bosses, he can lock the Charge Gauge as well.
After the fight, watch the scene and you'll be prompted to save. Go ahead and do so and you'll be back in Don-chan's Room. As always, there's a bit more to do here in the Jurassic Period before we move on.
Post Boss Wrapup
| Treasure | |
|---|---|
| Level Meat | Support Book |
| Strength Meat | Resurrection Book |
| Good Friend Spirit | |
FIrst of all, go ahead and go to Fire Mountain 3 so you can claim the chests where Gigant Rex was. You'll find a Level Meat and a Strength Meat in the two red chests. The silver one is locked, so we can't open it now.
Head back to the Time Portal and jump over to Rakkio's Village. Talk to the pink dinosaur Arenka by the entrance for a Good Friend Spirit. Go north across the bridge and talk to the green dinosaur Oniisan who will ask for 500G. Hand it over and he'll give you a Support Book and a Resurrection Book. Head back to the Time Portal and explore the unknown!
Chapter 4: Exploration! Mystery of the Ancient Pyramid!
Library
| Treasure |
|---|
| Life Honey |
| 200G |
After a short scene you'll get started right away. You can't head west, so head east then north. Continue north when the path splits until another scene occurs.
After the chat with Cleopatra, the guards will leave you alone. Backtrack to where the path goes four ways and head west into a large corridor. Going north leads to four chests, two of which are silver and thus cannot be opened yet. The two red ones house a Life Honey and 360G.
Nothing else to do here outside of reading all of the books, so make your way all the way south for a scene and then exit the Library.
Desert
| Recruitable Companions | Shop | Treasure | ||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Geekinx | Recovery Medicine | 20G | [Head] Camel | 600G | High Spirit Book | Life Honey |
| Golden Scorpion | Recovery Medicine 2 | 50G | [Head] Mummy | 600G | Nonstop Book | Sturdy Book |
| Poison Cobra | Name Plate | 50G | [Body] Camel Hump | 600G | 555G | Strength Tail |
| Scarab Boss | [Body] Mummy | 600G | Strength Honey | |||
This is a pretty big and complicated map, so you'll need to refer to your map frequently as you follow along. From the start, go east a bit and you'll see a merchant selling some new wares. Buy them up then follow the southern desert edge to the east.
As you head east, you should come across a trio of dancers. Talk to the one in front for a challenge. Clear it for a High Spirit Book and a Nonstop Book.
Walk a bit further east from the dancers then north. You should see a chest a small alcove which houses 555G.
Leave the alcove and take the first path leading west. Head north and west and you'll soon emerge from the maze. To the north you'll find a Time Portal, so activate it and heal up.
Go directly west from the Time Portal to see a white object. Interact for a scene, which follows with you earned Strength Honey and Life Honey. Journey north from here to find a chest holding a Sturdy Book. Walk southeast back to the Time Portal then follow the southern wall to the east to reach a chest containing a Strength Tail. From here, it's a walk directly north to the next area.
Pyramid 1
| Recruitable Companions | Treasure | ||
|---|---|---|---|
| Ancient Curse | Bastet Step | Horus Diver | Blotter Book |
| Anubis Priest | Bondage Mummy | Recovery Medicine 2 x4 | |
Watch the scene and then we can begin exploring this pyramid. Head to the north to find a Time Portal. Unlock it and recover. Head west afterwards, following the path until it branches to the east. Take the east branch then go south to reach a pair of chests to earn a Recovery Medicine 2 x4 and a Blotter Book.
North from the chests you'll see a group of four colored mummies. This is a puzzle but since you probably don't understand Japanese and just want a solution, here's what to do.
- Talk to the blue mummy and choose the second option (ひだりから2ばんめ)
- Talk to the green mummy and choose the fourth option (みぎはし)
- Talk to the red mummy and choose the first option (ひだりはし)
- Talk to the yellow yummy and choose the third option (みぎから2ばんめ)
Assuming you did this correctly, the door to the west will open. Head on through it and you'll see a chest. As you approach it, a humorous scene plays. After the scene, go north to the next floor.
Pyramid 2
| Treasure |
|---|
| Recovery Medicine 2 x3 |
| Level Spirit |
Head east and follow the path until it splits. Keep going south until you reach the next puzzle.
Here, there is a maze with doors blocking the various paths. You can only open a certain number of doors. The goal is to get to a switch in the lower right corner, which will open all of the doors and the door leading to the next floor.
From the start, go east, then south, then west, then south. This will lead you to a door leading south (with a closed door to the north as well). Open the next door to the south as well. Before going further, go ahead and take the west path and go north to reach a chest with three Recovery Medicine 2s.
Return back to where you opened the second door and go south, then east, then south and open the next door. This leads you to the switch, so activate it to open all of the doors. Note that if you somehow messed up, backtrack to the start and talk to the monument to reset the doors.
From here, go north until you can go east. Take that side path and it leads to a chest containing a Level Spirit. Go back to where the path split then go north until you reach the monument then east to reach the next floor.
Pyramid 3
| New Companion | Treasure |
|---|---|
| Cleopatra | Good Friend Spirit x3 |
Right at the start, interact with the second sarcaphagus from the left to find the Hide and Seek Master, who will issue you three Good Friend Spirits. Follow the linear path to the Time Portal, activate it, and heal up. The boss is up ahead, so choose your difficulty (party doesn't matter as you'll have to remake it) and get ready.
Walk north into the room. There's a scene and Cleopatra will join you as a Companion. She is a Large Companion so she takes up two spots. Fill up the other two as you see fit.
The battle is against the Pharaoh Chimera. Like other bosses, it can lock your Charge Meter at intervals. Its special attack brings up sand tornados on either side the move around in the way. They also cover up the faces of the notes, so you have to either read the names of the notes, wildly guess, or just know how the song goes.
After claiming victory, you'll also claim the Tikkun's Spring key item. Save when prompted and as per usual you'll end up at Don-chan's Room. Let's finish up some odds and ends before moving on.

| [Head] Cursed Mask | [Head] Jewel | 315G | [Body] Princess Dress |
| Life Meat | [Body] Jewel | Level Spirit | Charge Book |
| [Body] Pyramid | [Body] Auspicious Bamboo Rake | Good Friend Spirit | New Companion |
| Resurrection Book | Fortune Book | [Head] Princess Hair | Sisters |
First of all, head to Pyramid 3 in Ancient Egypt. Walk north for a scene. You'll receive a [Head] Cursed Mask. There are also two red chests. Open them up for Life Meat and an Ancient Key key item. As luck would have it, the Ancient Key can open silver chests! The two silver chests here house [Body] Pyramid and a Resurrection Book.
Now that we have the Ancient Key, we can go around and collect silver chests. We can finish up Ancient Egypt first. Head to the Library then go straight north to get to two silver chests holding a Sand Mushroom key item, a [Head] Jewel, and a [Body] Jewel.
Our next location is Ashihara Mountain 2. Walk all the way to the end of Ashihara Mountain 3. The silver chest here contains [Body] Auspicious Bamboo Rake.
Next stop is Versailles Palace in Middle Ages Europe. Head north and go into the west alcove with the four chests. The two silver ones succumb to your key, so claim the Fortune Book and 315G. While you're here, talk to Elise. Give her the Sand Mushroom and she'll give you a Level Spirit and a Good Friend Spirit. If you leave the Palace and come back in, she'll then ask you for a Love Potion. Kat-chan knocks some sense into her and she instead hands over a [Head] Princess Hair and [Body] Princess Dress.
Now go to Church 3 in Middle Ages Europe. Head to where you encountered the boss and you'll see two nuns. Talk to them for a challenge. The valkyries have a lot of health but no attacks or anything of that sort. Defeat them and the Sisters will join you as a single Companion.
Moving on, head to Fire Mountain 3 in the Jurassic Period. Directly north is a silver chest that yields a Charge Book. That finally finishes up the silver chest run. It's time to return to Don-chan's Room and journey into the unknown!

After the opening scene, Chris will join you as a Companion. You'll find a merchant right next to where you start, so feel free to purchase all of the new Dress Up parts.
The map here is quite linear, so head northeast until there's a scene. A little bit north from this scene you'll see three shadows in the water that look like fish. Go up to these and hit the A Button to fish. You can catch various items here, but the one of particular interest is the [Body] Octopus. Just keep fishing here until you get it. You can stay for items if you'd like. I managed to get a few kelp and a Name Plate before I got tired of trying.
Just northwest from the fishing spot you'll find a chest that houses a Strength Kelp. East from the chest is the zone to the next area.
Tropical Island 2

After the scene, follow the linear path to the east. Eventually you'll reach a Time Portal, so unlock it and recover. When you're done with everything here, head into the alcove north of the Time Portal for a scene. You'll be forced into a battle with two Sea Monkeys. Afterwards, you'll be zoned into the next area. Go back north though to return to Tropical Island 1, then walk or Time Portal back to Tropical Island 2 again. Head back into the alcove and open the silver chest for 753G. Now, go back to the Tropical Island 1 Time Portal and use the nearby boat to return back to where you were.
Water Cave 1

First thing to note is that you won't engage enemies while in the boat you're currently riding in. You'll have to dock to recruit Companions. Ride the boat to the east until you get a scene. Dock your boat and activate the Time Portal/recover. Activate the switch to clear the watery path to the north. Hop back in the boat and go north. Dock at the next stop to open the chest containing a Life Kelp. Jump back into the boat and follow the water to the next island. Dock and open the chest housing a Recovery Medicine 2. Activate the switch on the southern end then return to the boat and head to the next area.
Water Cave 2
| Treasure | |
|---|---|
| 1000G | [Head] Pirate |
| Strength Blessing | [Body] Pirate Ship |
| Ambush Book | |
Head south until you can dock. Get out of the boat and examine the empty chest to locate the Hide and Seek Master, who hands over 1000G. Go up the hill then east across the bridge. Open the chest here and score a Strength Blessing. Return to the boat.
Go northwest from here to find a small island with two chests. The red one holds an Ambush Book and the silver one holds [Head] Pirate and [Body] Pirate Ship. Get back in your boat.
Go to the very southwest island and attempt to activate the switch for a scene. Hop back in the boat and dock on the island northeast from this one. Head to the north then west across a bridge. Activate the switch. Head back east and activate the switch by the door to open it then go through it.
Water Cave 3
| New Companion |
|---|
| Rose |
Activate the Time Portal and recover. As you can probably guess, there's a boss fight ahead, so adjust your difficulty or anything else you need to do. Walk north and you'll obtain the Tikkun Clockface key item. After that, it's time to battle with Andoria. Andoria's special attack is much less dangerous than Pharoah Chimera's. He'll drop an anchor down and a bunch of pirates will jump around to obscure your view. Defeat this beast then watch the scene. Rose will join as a Companion. Save when prompted and as usual, you'll end up in Don-chan's Room. Also as per usual, we have more to do before moving on.
Pirate Era Cleanup
| Treasure |

| [Head] Compass |
Not much to do here, really. Return to the Pirate Era Water Cave 3. Go north a hair and examine the chest directly to the west of the red portal to reveal a switch. Activate it to open a secret door. Head all the way to the back and open the silver chest for a [Head] Compass. Unfortunately, we can't open the gold chest yet. And with that, we're ready to head into the portal and see where we end up!

From the start, go northwest. You will see an old Inventor in the corner. He'll issue a Challenge to you. Complete it to snag a [Head] Heavy Metal Makeup and [Body] Electric Guitar.
The building north of the Inventor is the shop. Buy up the new parts. Start heading east until you hit the far wall. Going south along the wall leads to a silver chest holding 600G. Going north along the wall leads to a chest that contains a Strength Screw. Start heading north up the road now and you'll encounter a scene. After the scene, head back to where the Time Portal is and continue south to leave the town.

This is a rather large area that is most easily traversed by looking at your map while following along. Follow the path until it splits, then take the south path. Veer to the west when possible and you'll reach a chest that holds a Life Feather.
Return back to the split and go to the east. When you reach the point where it goes south then splits to the east and west, you'll want to go east. The path loops around to a pair of treasure chests. The red one contains a Life Screw and the silver one holds an Acceleration Book.
Go back to the split and journey west. As the path is going south, you'll notice a small alcove with a barrel in it to the west. Talk to that barrel to find the Hide and Seek Master, who hands over two Power for Anyone and two Life for Anyone.
Continue south and follow the linear path until you reach the Time Portal. Unlock it and recover as per usual. To the north is a station with a few people hanging around. Talk to the Oniisan to the east of the building for a Challenge. Complete it and you'll score a [Head] Drill. Tap the treasure chest here for a scene wherein you'll obtain the Fire Water key item. Return to Kitty Hawk, preferably by the Time Portal.
Town of Kitty Hawk (Part 2)

Back in town, return to the building in the northeast to hand over the Fire Water. Head west of the Time Portal towards the man in red (Orville) for another scene. At this point, the Wright Brothers will join as a single Companion. When you're ready, click on the airplane to continue to the next area.
Mirage Island Fortress 1

First and foremost, activate the Time Portal and heal if necessary. Take the western conveyor belt southward then walk down the pipe ramp. At the junction, go south for a chest containing 3 Recovery Medicine 2s. Return to the junction and take the path west until you reach a four way intersection.
This is a conveyor belt maze. Start by going south then west to reach the chest, which holds a [Body] Globe. From here, go north twice, then west, then south twice to make it to the next area.
Mirage Island Fortress 2
| Treasure |
|---|
| Nonstop Book |
| Level Screw |
| Life for Anyone |
Follow the linear path until you reach a large area with a Time Portal in it. Activate it and heal up here. Take the southwestern conveyor leading west to reach a pair of chests housing a Nonstop Book and a Level Screw. Ride the conveyor north of the second chest back to where you were.
Head east this time, going across a pair of pipes to reach a chest that will provide you with a Life for Anyone. Head north then follow the path as it loops back south, being sure to snag the Security Card key item from the chest far to the south. Ride the conveyor belt north at the end to return back to the Time Portal area once again.
Heal up again if you need to. You'll be fighting the boss very soon so adjust the difficulty if you'd like, then walk north a bit for a scene. Afterwards, click the computer terminal to use your Security Card and you'll be able to ride the west conveyor belt up to the next area.
Mirage Island Fortress 3
Directly north from the entrance you'll find the next boss, Danum. After a scene, the battle begins. Danum has two special attacks. The first one has him firing machine gun fire at the scrolling bar, obscuring your view. This one isn't too bad. The next one is far worse. Large amounts of debris falls from the top of the screen. Along with the debris will fall dome looking objects that don't go away. After a set period of time they will explode, leaving a permanent cover of that area. He will keep doing this second attack, so you need to defeat him quickly before too much of your screen is covered.
After the battle, you'll score the Tikkun Battery key item. After the scene, you'll get the usual save prompt and end up in Don-chan's Room. Once again, there is a bit more to do before we move on.
Preparing for the End
| Treasure |

| [Head] Garland |
| Strength Screw |
| Life Screw |
| Level Screw x3 |
Our first stop here is in Middle Ages Europe of all places, namely the Lake Road. Right by the Time Portal, you'll find a new female Oneesan standing around. Talk to her for a [Head] Garland.
Next up, head to the Town of Kitty Hawk in the Airplane Era. Talk to the Inventor directly northeast of the Time Portal and hand over 450G. Go north to the building by the airplane and you'll see that Catherine is missing.
Take the Time Portal and warp over to the Plains. You'll find Catherine directly to the north, so talk to her. After the amusing scene, you'll receive a Strength Screw and a Life Screw.
You'll be back in the Town of Kitty Hawk. Return to the Inventor that you paid the 450G to and after a scene he'll hand over three Level Screws. That's all she wrote, so let's get ready to head into the unknown one last time!

Walk south from where you start. Talk to the Cosplay Samurai for a challenge. Completing it will earn you 2 Power for Anyone and a Reverse Book. Chat with the Cosplay Maid beside him for another challenge which can earn you 2 Life for Anyone and a Fortune Book.
Head back to the center then go west to find this town's Shop. Buy up the new Dress Up pieces if you so desire.
Again, return to the center. We'll go north this time. When you reach the cross area, talk to the Girl to the east and give her a Recovery Medicine. She'll give you a [Head] Polka Dot Ribbon in return. A fair trade. The treasure chest behind her will also present you with 913G.
Back to the center once again. To the east, we'll see a building. Click on the door for a scene.
Before advancing the plot any further, there's a tedious mini-quest to play through here. Talk to Oniisan in the center area and he'll disappear. We have to follow him through Space-Time!
Head to the Town of Owari in the Warring States. He'll be in the southwest corner of the town. Talk to him and he'll disappear again.
Our next stop is Versailles Palace in Middle Ages Europe. He'll be standing in the hall just outside of Marie's room. He'll disappear once again.
Continue onward to Rakkio's Village in the Jurassic Period. He's standing right next to the Time Portal. Poof.
In the Pyramid in Ancient Egypt, go west, then north, then east and you'll find him just outside the room with the color puzzle. There he goes again.
Next up is the Pirate Era. Take the Tropical Island 2 Time Portal and you'll find him right next to it. Poof. While you're here, go ahead and chat with Andoria for a challenge. Clearing it will earn you 2 Strength Feathers and 2 Life Feathers.
In the Airplane Era, he'll be a little to the east from the Town of Kitty Hawk Time Portal.
Finally, return to the Future and Lunar City. Talk to him one final time for [Body] Alice's Dress. He'll disappear again. Good riddance. At this point, there's nothing left to do other than to go north and enter the next area.
Hoshimi Tower 1
Activate the Time Portal and heal up. Approach the door and you'll get a scene, but you won't be able to enter. Go north past the door to find some stairs leading to the next floor.

Hoshimi Tower 4

| Hyper Spirit |
Another area that's just a bunch of flights of stairs. The floor right before the exit has a giant box on it. Clicking on it yields the Hide and Seek Master who will give you a Hyper Spirit. Exit at the top.
Hoshimi Tower 5
Activate the Time Portal and heal up. Heading north and veering east, chat with LindaAI-CUE for a challenge. This song's the hardest in the game so you might need to lower the difficulty to complete the challenge. By completing the challenge, you'll unlock Donkama 2000 as a playable song.
After you finish up with the challenge, head north for a scene. You'll have to fight a few enemies. It's an easy enough battle to win. After the battle, you can use the door to go back to the first floor if you'd like. We're done here, but before we advance the plot I'm sure you're itching to open up all the gold chests in the world, so let's scratch that itch.
Gold Chest Collecting
| Treasure | 2000G |

| Hyper Spirit x2 | [Head] Princess Kaguya |
We'll start off at Versailles Palace in Middle Ages Europe. Return to the treasure room on the west side and you can open the top two chests, containing a Hyper Spirit and 2000G.
We can travel to Water Cave 3 in the Pirate Era next. Enter the secret area north of the Time Portal and open the chest for a Hyper Spirit.
Return to Lunar City in the Future. There's an alcove if you go west from the center area that has a gold chest that houses a [Head] Princess Kaguya. That wraps up the gold chests. Funny, I swear I remembered more of them. Oh well.
Return to the house to the east for a scene. You'll be teleported to the next area.

Go all the way north to another chest wherein you'll find 4 Recovery Medicine 2s. Head north to the door for a scene. Afterwards, unlock the Time Portal and heal up. North of the Time Portal is a computer terminal. If you interact with it enough times, you'll get into a forced battle. There doesn't really seem to be anything else to it, but you can fight the battle repeatedly.
Head to the west and you'll reach a fork of paths. Take the top path and teleport over to a chest holding a Gamble Book. The teleporter by it takes you back to the fork. Go south this time and teleport. On the next platform, take the north teleporter to reach the far end. Go north to reach the next area.

There is another terminal here that you can use for forced battles. Head south until you reach the yellow tiled area.
Head south then southwest, looping around to a chest holding a Power for Anyone. Go east until you reach a four way intersection. Go northeast here then north to reach a chest containing a High Spirit Book. Return to the four way interection and travel northwest to a teleporter leading to the next area.
