Vendors

About Vendors

It is important to note that there is no shipping box in this game. You must go to town and sell your goods to either Otmar in the General Store, or to the various vendors that appear on the eastern side of town in the Trade Depot. You will not have all the Vendors at first, but you will gain Silk Country relatively early on. Ice Country will probably, although not necessarily, be the penultimate vendor you unlock, with Tropical Country probably being the last. All vendors have unlock conditions and requirements, but they are easy to achieve by simply playing the game.

There is no set schedule. Silk Country may visit you on Winter 20, but may not visit your friend on the same day. They do visit twice a week, though. Although it may seem like a vendor desert in the beginning, as you unlock vendors there will rarely be a day when no vendors are in town.

Silk Country

Silk Country is the first vendor you are able to trade with. You can expect to find basic seeds and ingredients for cooking., all being sold by Asche. There will always be animals available for purchase, specifically Cows, Chickens, Llamas, Camels, and a variety of Pets. The more you trade with Silk Country, the higher your reputation points with the vendor. Higher reputation points will unlock rarer goods.

How to Unlock
No requirements; it will unlock in Spring of Year 1

Cabin Country

Cabin Country is the second vendor you will unlock. It specializes in pets, animals and animal products, including various types of linen and yarn. All of these things are sold by Marielle. The more you trade with Cabin Country, the higher your reputation points with the vendor. Higher reputation points will unlock rarer goods.

How to Unlock
Requirement 1: Be in Summer of Year 1 or later
Requirement 2: Ship 100,000G through Silk Country

Sakura Country

Sakura Country is the third vendor you will unlock. Run by Yoshino, you will find many items of Japanese origin. Of note is the bamboo sold by Sakura Country, as you can grow it and chop down unique wood.

How to Unlock
Requirement 1: Be in Fall of Year 1 or later
Requirement 2: Ship 200,000G through Cabin Country

Wheat Country

Wheat Country is the stereotypical Westerner's paradise, similarly to how Sakura Country has a Japanese theme going on. It's run by Kenneth, who sells comfort foods/crops along with the fabled Zebu Cows and Araucana Chickens in year 4. He also sells various home decor items. Occasionally, Kenneth will ask you if you're interested in purchasing a mystery seed. If you purchase it and grow it on your farm, you'll grow one of the Mario themed trees, which have varying effects.

How to Unlock
No time requirement
Sell a total of 500,000G total through vendors.

Rose Country

Rose Country is a little more difficult to unlock. Think "fancy" and you've essentially got an idea of what Rose Country sells. They say wines and cheeses; they sell fancy, expensive flowers; and the vendor, Ennio, is a real... hoot.

How to Unlock
No time requirement
Sell a total of 1,000,000G total through vendors.

Ice Country

The first vendor that presents a real challenge. It's unlikely you'll unlock this naturally without knowing what you need to sell in advance. In general, its unlocking requirements aren't as steep as Tropical Country's. Katrina essentially sells Ores and Ice. While you're able to get ice every now and then from Asche at Silk Country, Katrina sells ice in stack of 99. Unlike the other vendors, you must ship specific items to unlock Ice Country. These objects are decoration objects that you build on your farm.

Tropical Country

The bane of many players' existence. They sell tropical themed items as well as those hard to find down feathers and unique fruit. Without enough determination and endurance, however, it's unlikely for you to meet Yolanda.

Crops, Flowers & Trees

About Planting

Planting has been streamlined since the early days of the series. To plant, simply use your Hoe to till the ground on your farm/fields you own. You'll know you've tilled enough when you see 9 dark squares. Then, select which seed you want to plant. One bag will cover the entire 3x3 area. You must water your crops daily, otherwise they will die. Crops grown in the paddy and trees are the only exception, although you do have to water the Mystery Seed trees. One tree will take up the entire 3x3 area.

Optionally, you can choose to fertilize your crops. Apply 1 bag of fertilizer to one 3x3 plot to fertilize it. Fertilizing it daily will increase its star rank. However, it is impossible to get 5 stars this way simply by fertilizing; once you harvest your crops, the fertilizer no longer applies to the plot of land. If you want to keep the benefits, you must purchase the blueprints for the Seed Maker Shed, and then build one on your farm. One fruit or vegetable will yield one bag of seeds this way, and so your next 3x3 crop will be whatever star quality the original produce was, plus the fertilizer you apply to it.

Take note that most crops must be planted in the correct season as seen below. You won't be able to purchase seeds for out-of-season crops, so either plan ahead or save some of your own produce to make more seeds.
