Welcome to my Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy walkthrough. This is the
sixth main installment of the franchise and is supposed to be the last one with
Layton as the main protagonist. It is also my first full playthrough of one of
the games, despite just recently acquiring all but two of the games. I fully
intend on writing a walkthrough for the entire story, showing how to complete
all of the puzzles and hopefully pointing out the locations of the Hint Coins.

Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy is a puzzle/adventure game, with a heavy
emphasis on the puzzle portion. As the sixth game, chronologically, in the
series, not much has changed mechanically with The Azran Legacy. Players still
explore the surroundings, looking for puzzles and Hint Coins, while progressing
through the story.

======|  EXPLORATION  |

Exploration is done via the touch screen, with each main area in the game being
split into separate areas of their own. To look around, players are given a
magnifying glass that they can slide around on the touch screen. Using this, any
time the magnifying glass turns orange, the player can inspect that spot, either
talking to people, finding Hint Coins/Puzzles or just springing up some generic
conversation.

To move from one place to the next, the shoe icon is used. Each main area, as
mentioned before, is split up into tinier maps that are shown as dots on a map.
New areas within the larger main area will be unlocked as the player solves
puzzles or progresses in the main storyline.

The main draw of the game is the various puzzles the player encounters while
exploring. By talking to NPCs and investigating objects in the game's world, the
player will trigger the start of numerous puzzles (there are 150 puzzles that
can be found during the main story).

When players are presented with a puzzle, they will be shown the number of
Picarats they will be rewarded for solving it. This is the game's currency and
the number shown is the maximum one can get for each puzzle, which is lowered
for each time the player fails at solving the puzzle (there is a minimum amount
it won't go lower than).

To progress further into the game, the player will need to either solve specific
puzzles, solve a minimum number of them or win a minimum number of Picarats from
solved puzzles. Sometimes, the player is unable to solve a puzzle or will miss
one, progressing past the point where they can access them. If this happens, the
unsolved/unfounded puzzles will be placed in Granny Riddleton's shack, where the
player can access them at any time.

======|  HINT COINS  |

Puzzles within the game are not timed, but the player can use Hint Coins that
can be found during the adventure portion of the game to provide hints on how to
solve a particular puzzle (they start with 10 and can collect up to a total of
300). Note that the player can only use up to three hints per puzzle, requiring
one Hint Coin each, as well as a super hint that requires the other three hints
to be revealed and requires two Hint Coins.

As with previous games in the series, Azran Legacy offers downloadable quests
via the game's SpotPass feature. This adds another 365 puzzles to the game,
accessible as Daily Quests that will continually be added over the course of a
year after the game's release.

Another online feature comes in the form of items you can find throughout your
adventure. Once you find three, you will be able to create a Treasure Hunt
challenge. This challenge can be sent to other players via StreetPass. The
player can find three themselves, giving them points, which can be used to
purchase rewards. If the player has no more challenges left, they can purchase
more with the 3DS' Play Coins.

Professor Layton, Luke and Emmy board a ship to meet with a fellow professor who
has found a "living mummy." Raymond, Professor Sycamore's butler, introduces
himself and gives a identity check in the form of the first puzzle.

PUZZLE 001 - Airship's Destination
Picarats - 20

You are presented with a map that indicates the locations of cities and
refuelling stations. One of the cities is the destination for the Bostonius and
it's up to you to find it. You have to move through each spot on the map and can
only move three spaces before having to refuel.

Start off by going down three times, then right to the refuelling station. Go up
once, right once, up once more and left to the second station. Then, go up,
right and right once more for the last refuelling station. To finish off the
puzzle, go down three times and left to reach the destination.

The destination is Froenborg, a snow-covered place, and you will also get your
first Mystery. You should get a prompt to save, meaning it's the end of the
Prologue.

You'll get a tutorial of sorts from Layton on how to use Investigation Mode,
which is done by tapping on the magnifying glass and sliding the stylus around
on the bottom screen. When the glass turns orange over an object, tap on the
bottom screen to investigate it, sometimes leading to a puzzle or even a Hint
Coin. You get to practice some, so investigate the dashboard and then talk to
Raymond to get ready to set out.

You then get another small tutorial on how to move, which is done by tapping the
shoe icon. On the map, use this to move to any spots with an orange icon. Do
this when you get the chance to head into town. Investigate the ice house and a
man will appear, shivering in the cold. His name is Aldus and he'll ask you to
find a wooden box.

Slide your stylus around to look for it until he chimes in and teaches you how
to zoom in. Basically, whenever the magnifying glass turns blue, tap on the
bottom screen and you will zoom in. So, zoom in on the house when you see the
blue and the wooden box will be inside. Tap on it to make a Hint Coin appear
(011), which are used to give you tips during puzzles.

Before you zoom out, there are two more Hint Coins inside the house, so tap the
yellow frying pan above the fire (012) and the thing with three handles sticking
out of it at the top of the house (013). Zoom out now and find more Hint Coins;
the stump next to the fire (014), one of the windows on the house (015), and the
lantern hanging above the town sign (016). When you're ready, go back to your
map and head to the next location, Slippery Street.

You'll get a short tutorial here about Layton's trunk, which houses a bunch of
useful information, such as Layton's Journal, Mysteries, as well as other
things, like mini-games, the Puzzle Index (so you can replay puzzles you've
completed) and even the ability to save. The ? icon in the bottom left corner
gives you access to Treasure Hunt mode, where you can complete challenges to
find specific items in the game, as well as send challenges to other players.

| It would be a good idea to go into your trunk and check out the Treasure     |
| Hunt mode. Doing so will allow you to find items that can be used to create  |
| your own challenges for other players via StreetPass. In fact, once you do   |
| this, you can find your first two items back in the South Gate area. Next to |
| the igloo house will be the UPRIGHT SLED and inside the house is the MINI    |
| SNOWMAN. All future items like this will be in caps.                         |

Once you're ready, it's time to hunt for some Hint Coins. Before that, though,
click on the signpost to get the TIMBER SIGNPOST for challenges. Above the
signpost is an icicle hanging off the building, so click on it to make it fall
and reveal a Hint Coin (017). Check the chimney on the left building for another
(018), and the swaying sign on the middle building for a third (019). For the
final coin, search the snow pile in the lower left corner (020).

Talk to the girl standing there, who says her name is Prima. She asks for some
help in opening a present her friend got her, leading to Puzzle #002.

PUZZLE 002 - A Glacial Gift
Picarats - 20

Her friend gave her a birthday present that's encased in a block of ice, which
is 2 kg. It takes 150 ml cups of hot water in order to melt 30 g of the ice. You
need to work out how many cups it takes to melt the entire thing. This puzzle is
tricky, as if you noticed, there's a fireplace behind Prima in the picture, so
she can place the ice block by there and let it melt on its own, thus needing 0
cups of hot water.

After finishing the puzzle, you open up the next area, but don't go there yet.
If you investigate the hanging lights portion of the streetlight, then you'll
gain access to Puzzle #003.

PUZZLE 003 - Lighten Up
- Picarats (40)

You have to place the lights on the diamonds according to the two rules.
Whenever you place one, the light extends in a straight line in all directions.
The first rule you have to abide by is to only place on lantern on each street
and the second rule is that no beams of the same color can cross each other.
Should you happen to break either of these, the square will have an X in it, so
place the lanterns in a different spot.

Start with the yellow lights, placing one in the bottom right, a second on the
first spot from the right on the top row and the third on the middle spot
(vertically) at the far left. For the pink ones, the first one goes at the
second spot from the left in the second row from the top, and the second goes at
the leftmost spot in the third row from the bottom. That only leaves one spot
for the green lantern.

Go back to your map and head to the next area.

======|  Snow Coach Stop  |

Upon first arriving here, you'll see two mysterious men talking about something,
and "Suspicious Men" will be added to your Mysteries section. When you gain
control, check out the clock tower to get PENDULUM CLOCK TOWER, then the blue
skis on the right to get PAIR OF SKIS.

Check the big sign right above the skis before to get your first Hint Coin
(021), then click on the hat on the snowman also nearby for another (022). For
the last one, there's a building in the bottom left that you can see, so click
on the window there to get the coin (023). Investigating the chimney of the
taller building on the right side will net you Puzzle #004.

PUZZLE 004 - Similar Snowflakes
Picarats - 20

There are three different types of snowflakes falling and you need to figure out
which of the four shown on the bottom screen isn't falling. Concentrate on one
at a time and look at their centers to find certain patterns. Trying to look at
all of them at once will only confuse you. The solution is snowflake C is
missing.

Talk to the guy standing in the middle of the street and he'll relay a message
to you from Sycamore. He says that Sycamore is at the big cave to the north, so
go back to the map and click on the arrow to go there.

======|  Ice Cave Front  |
      '------------------'
When you arrive here, click on the hilltop in the upper left corner for a Hint
Coin (024). The other two coins in this area are at the front opening of the big
log on the ground (025) and the second hilltop above the cave entrance (026).
Check out the cave entrance and it seems you can't get inside for the moment,
but before you head back into town, look at the lone snowman here.

At the previous area, talk to Prima and her friend, whose name is Donna. Before
they help you out, they present you with another puzzle.

PUZZLE 005 - Embroidery Enigma
Picarats - 40

There are four path designs sewn onto the handkerchief, starting from the upper
left and following the orange line towards the center. Your goal is to place the
four patches on the bottom screen into their respective spots in the sequence.
If you notice, it starts with Tree, then goes to Tree-Snowflake, then Tree-
Snowflake-Glove, and Tree-Snowflake-Glove-Snowman before starting all over
again.

Using this knowledge, the Tree goes in the lower left, Snowflake in the upper
left, Glove in the top right and Snowman in the bottom right.

The girls tell you that you need to zoom in on the building to the right of the
mailbox, which is where Mascha (she supposedly knows everything there is to know
about Froenborg) is located. Note that you also gain access to the Dress Up
minigame, with Prima's Request being your first. You can't complete it yet,
though, so zoom in on the building.

This is a hot spring, so start by checking out the sign to get HOT SPRING
SIGNBOARD, then check the rocks to the right of the two men to get a Hint Coin
(027). Talk to Mascha, who says that the snowman right outside the ice cave is
mysterious. Layton suggests checking out all of the town's snowmen, but the one
you want is in Slippery Street. Grab the glove off its hand and go back to the
ice cave.

Investigate the snowman and Emmy will put the glove on its arm, which opens the
ice cave.

After the cutscene is over, investigate the SLEEPING BAG, then search around for
some Hint Coins. The first is found at the spot on the right where the water
hits the pool (028), with the second being the stalagmite at the far right
(029). For the final one, go to the left side of the screen and click at the top
of the rock formation that doesn't reach off screen (030).

Zoom in closer on the mysterious girl, then click on her to start the next
puzzle.

PUZZLE 006 - Frozen in Time
Picarats - 30

You have a stone tablet in front of you, with beams of light dividing it. Your
goal is to rotate the pieces by hitting the circles and make it so it's divided
into groups of four blocks each (barring the middle piece). There are four rows
of beams, so start with the top row, going from left to right.

Top Row - First one hit leave alone, second hit three times, third leave alone,
          fourth leave alone and fifth leave alone
2nd Row - First hit twice, second hit once, third hit three times, fourth hit
          once, fifth leave alone
3rd Row - First hit once, second leave alone, third leave alone, fourth leave
          alone
4th Row - First hit once, second hit twice, third hit once, fourth hit twice,
          fifth hit three times

Submit once you've double-checked and done the above, and the puzzle will be
complete.

Start making your way back to the Bostonius, when you'll be stopped by one of
the bad guys in the Slippery Street area. He presents you with a puzzle in order
to try and stall you.

PUZZLE 007 - Mutiny!
Picarats - 30

You are presented with four figures (three pirates and one sailor) on a board
with five spaces. The figures can only move by jumping over onto an empty space,
and multiple figures can be jumped over. Pirates that are jumped over will turn
into sailors and vice versa, with the goal to turn all figures into sailors.
Follow the order below to finish the puzzle

- Right-most pirate jumps left
- Left-most pirate jumps all the way to the right
- Left pirate jumps left
- Sailor jumps right
- Middle sailor jumps left
- Right-most pirate jumps left
- Sailor jumps all the way to the right

You gain a new clothing item here, the Snow-White Jacket, and can head towards
the Bostonius again. When you arrive at the South Gate, talk to Harald at the
bottom for another puzzle. If you happen to miss this one, you have to wait
until Chapter 3 to be able to get another chance to do it again.

PUZZLE 008 - Reggie's Slidy Ride
Picarats - 30

Your goal in this puzzle is to get the red-shelled turtle onto the highlighted
spot in the middle. The only problem is that the little turtles move if anything
bumps into them. The big turtle only moves if it gets hit by the red-shelled one
or the ice block. The ice block only moves when you do it yourself and can go
into the one hole.

Start by sliding the red turtle to the left, then slide the top green turtle
down. After that, send the ice block down and into the hole, letting you slide
the big turtle to the right. This will position it so the red turtle can be slid
downwards and stay on the designated spot.

Board the Bostonius now and watch the cutscene that follows. A minigame of sorts
will now occur, where you must shoot down specific ships and missiles as they
appear. You slide the stylus around to aim and then tap the screen to shoot.
There is a time limit for each set and you have to make sure you don't shoot the
wrong target. The following is the order of the targets:

- Blue one
- Upper left one
- Two blue ones
- Bottom right one
- Bottom left one
- Ones marked with 24 and 32
- Upper right one
- Three blue ones
- Ones marked with 25, 31 and 57
- Go in descending order, starting with 57, then 52, 31, 28 and 25

After all is said and done, you will be on board the enemy ship. Investigate the
hook to make it move and a Hint Coin will pop out once it's done (031). In the
upper right corner of the screen is a light on the wall, which houses another
Hint Coin (032). For the last one in this room, check the light on the wall on
the left side (033). Look at the door in the back to get the next puzzle.

PUZZLE 009 - Dial Trial
Picarats - 30

The lock for the door has four quadrants with symbols on them. The circle has a
value of 1 and the diamond-shaped ones have a value of 5. You have to make sure
that each quadrant has symbols that add up to the same value. Only the two
middle dials can be turned, so that limits your options. In the end, you want
each quadrant to have values totaling 15.

To quickly solve this puzzle, turn the yellow one a quarter turn clockwise and
the white one a quarter turn counter-clockwise.

Solving the puzzle opens up the next area, so head on over to it. One of the men
stops you, but doesn't do anything for now. Check the middle door to the left of
Macaw to get a Hint Coin (034), then look at the small light on the second
pillar to the left of the ladder for another (035). For the last coin, follow
the crane all the way to the top of the screen and find the red beam. The first
hole here has the Hint Coin (036). Talk to Macaw for a puzzle.

PUZZLE 010 - Funky Hooks
Picarats - 30

You have to guide Layton across the walkway while avoiding the hooks, which
swing back and forth across the same routes. The hooks go up and down their set
paths, turning around and going the opposite direction when they reach the end.

Go right twice, then down two times and all the way to the bottom right corner.
From here, go up once, then down once and left twice. Once you get here, you can
go up twice, and then right to the goal.

You receive the Tiny Top Hat clothing item, and also open the next area, but you
shouldn't go there yet. Investigate the control panel and the crane will move,
allowing you to zoom in on the area below. Check the box on top of the wooden
one on the right side for a Hint Coin (037), then look at the oil drums on the
left for another puzzle.

PUZZLE 011 - A Laborious Litre
Picarats - 35

You have two drums of fuel, with one being able to hold a maximum of 9 litres
and the other being able to hold 11. The problem is that the pump is broken, as
it won't stop pouring the fuel until the drum is filled. Your goal here is to
make it so one of the drums only has one litre of fuel in it.

This is a rather simple puzzle, once you get into the groove of it. Start by
filling the left drum and then using the right arrow in the center to transfer
it. Fill the left one again and do the same again, leaving you with seven litres
in the left. Completely empty the right drum, then transfer it again.

Fill the left, transfer it to have 5 litres, empty the right and keep doing this
process over and over until you only have one litre left in the left drum.

This is the final puzzle for Chapter 1, so once you finish it, go back to your
map and move to the left to view a cutscene that will bring the chapter to a
close.

The second chapter opens up with Layton and Luke crash landing in a forest, and
you'll get a new Episode. Start by checking the tip of the large branch
connected to the log for a Hint Coin (038). On the far right, look at the very
small branch coming off the skinny tree for another coin (039). For the last
coin, check the upper white mark on the tree to the left of the squirrel (040).
If you investigate the dandelion just to the left of the squirrel, you will get
the FOREST DANDELION mystery item.

Talk to the squirrel to have Luke actually talk to it and he'll offer you a
puzzle before helping you out.

PUZZLE 012 - Squirrel Snacks
Picarats - 30

The four fruits given to you are all different weights, but the squirrels don't
know the individual weights. The only things they know are that the second third
heaviest are their favorites, and the weight of these two fruits in grams is an
even number. If you try to figure this out on your own, place all possible
combinations on the scale and note their combined weights.

The answer to this puzzle is that fruits A and D are the squirrels' favorite
fruits.

For completing this puzzle, you get the Nutty Roller minigame, as well as its
first course, Floating Island; it can be found in your trunk. In the next area,
watch the short scene and look at the Siren Lake mystery added to your trunk. As
for the Hint Coins, there's one at the red sign on the left side (041) and
another when you tap the light hanging from the pole (042). There are two more
here, so tap the smoking chimnet of the house on the right (043) and the tallest
pole of the pier (044).

With those out of the way, there's a DRAGONFLY on the pier and the BOAT WRECKAGE
on the left-hand side. Speak with the guy standing there (name is Igor) and then
you can move onto the next area. You end up finding out the name of the
organization going after the girl, which is Targent. Two more entries are added
to your Mysteries section.

There are four more Hint Coins here, with the first one being the chimney of the
green building (045). The second is on the fence right in front of you (046) and
the third is a sign in the distance next to two sets of stairs (047). As for the
last one, look at the door on the balcony of the store with the red awning on
your left (048).

In the middle of the area is a clock, which when tapped will give you the
STATION SQUARE CLOCK mystery item. After that, talk to the girl with purple hair
to get the next puzzle.

PUZZLE 013 - Pretty Paper Petals
Picarats - 40

You've decided to sew a garish flower for your friend, but to be different, you
want to make it so no two petals of the same color are touching. There are some
already filled in, so you will have to do the same. Simply touch the petal to

You receive a new Dress Up request (Sonya's Request) for finishing the last
puzzle, and another person will appear. Speak to this man (name is Moos), who
says someone has been talking about Layton. Zoom in on the station and you
should see Aldus again standing there. Before talking to him, check out the
wheel on the locomotive for the LOCOMOTIVE WHEEL mystery item.

Talk to Aldus and he tells you about how you sometimes see puffs of smoke when
moving your magnifying glass around. If you tap on the screen at these spots,
you will receive an item that goes into the Collection category in your trunk.
Zoom back out and Moos will tell you which way the girl went, so go back to your
map and head there.

You're now in the Fish Market section, so look around for some Hint Coins. The
first one is found by tapping on the tank in the middle on the ground (049),
with a second found by tapping on the anchor for tying rope closest to you by
the boat (050). On the left side of the screen is an orange and blue bag hanging
on the wall, which houses another Hint Coin (051). The last one in this area is
on the boat itself; check the ropes on the front (052).

When you are finished combing over the area, talk to the woman (her name is
Larisa) for a new puzzle.

PUZZLE 014 - Blooming Flowers
Picarats - 40

You have to place the flowers so that each flower is surrounded by one of a
different color. You only have two colors to worry about, though, which are blue
and purple. Luckily, the puzzle is solved when you have finished it correctly,
so follow the order below for an easy solution.

- Place the L-shaped one with five flowers in the bottom left corner
- The other L-shaped one with only four flowers goes in the upper left corner
- The backwards C-shaped one goes in the bottom right corner
- The cross-shaped one with six flowers goes to the left of the C-shaped one
- The T-shaped piece goes in the upper right corner
- The piece with only two flowers goes in the space on the right-hand side
- The cross-shaped one with only five flowers goes on the left side
- With one piece left, you should be able to find out where it goes

For finishing that puzzle, you gain access to another minigame called Bloom
Burst, as well as its first level, Victorian Terrace. As with everything else,
you can find this in the trunk. Before moving on, though, check the blue fish
symbol in the background for another puzzle.

PUZZLE 015 - Somethign Fishy

This poster was ripped to pieces before being stuck to this sign and your job is
to put them back in the right place. Of course, you can only move three pieces
at a time, either up, down or sideways. If a piece is dark on the bottom screen,
then you won't be able to move it. Starting from the top row, each row is
numbered 1-5 and starting from the left, each column is numbered 1-5.

- Move row 3 once to the right
- Move row 4 to the left twice
- Move column 3 up once
- Move row 2 once to the left
- Move row 4 once to the right

With that area now cleared, go back to your map and move to the next one. Check
the orange-colored buoy things hanging on the blue shack for a Hint Coin (053),
then the small plant on the left side of the railroad tracks for another (054).
The last coin here is found by tapping on the railroad crossing sign closer to
you (055). The red sign just below it is the LEVEL CROSSING SIGN mystery item.
Talk to the guy standing there (Boris), who says the girl might be up on the
nearby hill.

Back on the map, head to the next area and check the broken tree on the right
side for a collection item (Multipurpose Parabella). Check the lighter green
bush just to the left of the tree left of the sign for a Hint Coin (056), then
check the edge of the cliff towards the left for another (057). The last coin
here is located in the tree above the nest on the left-hand side (058); the nest
is also a mystery item (TREETOP NEST).

Inspect the planks of wood on the left side for a puzzle.

PUZZLE 016 - Give Me a Sign!
Picarats - 40

Your objective for this puzzle is to recreate a sign that is all beaten from the
weather using the pieces on the bottom screen. If you look closely at the top
sign, you can faintly see an outline of where the pieces should go. Note that
you can rotate the pieces by clicking on the corner of them, which will be
necessary for some.

- Start with the small triangle and place it in the bottom right corner
- The L-shaped piece goes in the bottom left corner
- The piece with the slant on it goes just to the right of the L-shaped one
- Rotate the pinkish colored piece with the curve so the point is in the upper
  right, then place the piece in the upper left corner
- There's a piece similar to the previous one, so make it a mirror of the last
  piece and place it in the upper right corner
- The biggest, rectangular piece should go in the space on the far right
- The medium-sized rectangular piece should go in the space on the far left
  (rotate it)
- That leaves the L-shaped piece with a curve and the smallest rectangular
  piece; both go in the middle with the L-shaped one on the right and the other
  on the left (rotate the small piece)

If you inspect the hilly area to the right of the sign, you should see Layton
and the others talk about Targent's zeppelin. However, they hear a scream and
say it's the fisherman (Boris), so return to the Level Crossing area. Speak with
Boris for the next puzzle.

PUZZLE 017 - Walking on Water
Picarats - 30

It turns out that the girl wasn't really walking on water, but using floating
pieces of ice to get across instead. Stepping on a piece of ice sets it in
motion, where it keeps moving until it bumps into something or the shore. Touch
one of the arrows surrounding Layton to move him in that direction, with your
goal being the top, where the girl is located.

Start by going left and then stepping onto the island. Next, go up and then
right, where you'll have the option to go one of two ways. Go right, down and
then left to be on the island in the middle. From here, go left, up and then
right to finally catch up to the girl.

Watch the scenes that follow and you'll now be outside some ancient Azran
structure. Check the top of the left pillar for the Fragile Anchor collection
item, then it's time to search for some Hint Coins. The first one is on top of
the short pillar on the right (059), with the second being on the waterfall
between the left pillar and the entrance (060). For the last one, check the
broken area above the design that is above the entrance (061).

Head inside to appear in a dome-like area, where you can find three more Hint
Coins. For these, check the drawings in the upper left (062; three circles with
lines connecting them in the shape of a triangle) and upper right (063; an
almost full circle with a semicircle around it), and the water on the left side
(064). Talk to Aurora for the next puzzle.

PUZZLE 018 - The Celestial King
Picarats - 40

You must re-enact the story of the Celestial King slicing the land into ten
continents with only four strokes, which was done because of his children, the
Riders of the Sky, constantly warring against each other. You can only use each
point once and the line cannot touch a Rider, which are represented by the boot-
like symbols.

Dividing the circle vertically, down the middle, number each point from one to
five, going from top to bottom. Using this as a guide, connect the following
points:

- Left 3 to Right 3
- Left 1 to Right 4
- Left 4 to Right 1
- Left 2 to Left 5

It's time to return to the Bostonius, although there are a few pit stops on the
way back. Speak to the guy in the brown coat at Level Crossing (name is
Mackintosh), then head to the Fish Market. If you try to keep heading towards
the Bostonius, you'll see that some of the Targent guys will be in your way.
Talk to the guy on the left (Karpin), who says that Aurora can hide behind the
white boxes in the back.

Zoom in on the white boxes, then check the tiny hanging light on the left for a
Hint Coin (065). Zoom back out and talk to the Targent agents to lead them off
your trail. Afterwards, a new path will open up on your map, so take that one to
the Waterfront area. In the bottom right corner is a turtle in the water, so
click on it to get the SWIMMING TURTLE mystery item.

As for Hint Coins in this area, tap on the window in the upper left corner of
the screen (the one with the blue shutters) for the first one (066). A second
one can be found by tapping on the sticks coming out of the water closest to you
(067), and a third is found by tapping the plant immediately right of the girl
(068). As for the last one, check the red sign hanging above the boat (069).

Talk to the girl (name is Sonya) to get another puzzle.

PUZZLE 019 - A Dog of Tiles
Picarats - 40

You have 15 tiles (of 2x2 size) of varying colors at your disposal. You have to
use these tiles to recreate the dog shown on the upper screen. Note that there
are four tiles where you can't place your own tiles, and you can overlap your
own.

- Place two white tiles on the left and right sides of the top unused tile
- Place another white one just below the top right corner one
- Grab a brown tile and overlap the left side of the white one you just placed
- Use a white tile and place it so the top left square of the brown one is
  overlapped
- Take the red one and overlap the left side of the white square you just placed
- Take a brown one and overlap the left side of the red square you just placed
- Place a white square in the upper left corner now
- Take two white ones and place them in the bottom left corner and right above
  that one
- Using a brown one, place it so only the upper right square of the red one is
  showing, then place another brown one underneath that one
- Place a white square in the bottom right corner, then cover the top left
  square with a brown one
- The final white piece goes along the bottom, covering the two middle squares
  of the bottom brown row

You get the Special Boots clothing item for solving the puzzle. Try to leave and
you'll notice you can't yet, because of the Targent thugs. You'll notice a new
lady standing near the boat on the right (Dariya), so speak to her and then
investigate the boat for a new puzzle.

PUZZLE 020 - Boat to Boat
Picarats  - 40

You will need to hop from boat to boat to get across without getting seen by
Targent. Each boat travels in in a fixed direction and at varying speeds. You
can only jump to another boat when it is right next to you. Red boats move one
square, blue move two, purple move three and orange boats move four. Note that
if you move off the screen when the boat goes off, you will fail the puzzle.

- Get on the blue boat and go right four times, then get on the purple boat
- Go left twice, then get on the red boat
- Go left twice, then get on the blue boat
- Go right three times, then get on the orange boat
- Go left twice, then get on the purple boat
- Go right once, then get on the blue boat
- Keep going right to the docks to finish

After the puzzle, you'll get the Fluttery Maxi Skirt clothing item and you'll be
back at the Lake Kodh Pier area. There's nothing for you to do here, but you can

PUZZLE 021 - Fishing Friends
Picarats - 20

Compared to the last few puzzles, this one is rather simple. There are three
friends (designated by A, B and C) fishing on the riverbank and a fisherman
notices something. One caught a wellington boot, another an empty can and the
third a big catch. The friend who caught the boot is next to the one who made
the big catch, but it wasn't B who caught the wellie.

Since B isn't the one who caught the wellington boot, that means it must be
either A or C. Using that knowledge and the other fact that the one who caught
the boot is next to the one who made the big catch, the only logical choice for
the big catch person is B.

Head back to the Bostonius now and then talk to Sycamore, which will bring an
end to this chapter.

Hint Coins. The first can be found by checking the stack of books on the floor

left (071). On the right side of the room are some drawers that open when you
tap on them; the coin is in the small drawer on the right (072). For the last
one, check the reddish-colored object on the top shelf above the drawers (073).

On the table is an apple, which is a mystery item (GREEN APPLE). Also, if you
check the box on top of the bookshelf in the back of the room, you'll find the
Miniature Laytonmobile collection item. Lastly, the glass cupboard next to the
bookshelf where you got the collection item houses a puzzle for you.

PUZZLE 022 - Hose Help?
Picarats - 20

An archaeologist has dug up an ancient statue and he has garnered a lot of
attention, with people wanting to help clean the mud off of it. However, the
hose is not spraying any water, despite being turn on. It's up to you to find
the person to help you get the water spraying again. If you follow the hose from
where it's connected, you will find out that a person is standing on it, which
happens to be B!

Go to your map and head outside of the university, where you'll meet up with
Inspector Grosky. Check the big bush in front of the university for a Hint Coin
(074), then tap the right chimney on top of the building for another (075). For
the last one, check the red bus stop sign on the right side of the screen (076).
Talk to Dean Delmona in front, who will give you another puzzle.

PUZZLE 023 - Choc-Full
Picarats - 30

You have a box of chocolates in front of you, with five people up top who want
specific sets of three chocolates each. You will have to divide the box below
into those sets of three, fulfilling each person's order.

- Draw a straight line down the three columns, starting from the left, which
  will satisfy three of the people's desires
- This leaves two people, one who wants three squares and the other wanting
  a square/circle/heart combination
- Connect the two remaining in the top row, then go with the right-hand square
- There should only be three chocolates remaining, so connect them to finish the
  puzzle
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------


You will get a new Nutty Roller course after finishing the puzzle, called Roly-
Poly Bridges. You will also receive a short tutorial on how to use the buses to
get around the various areas here. Either tap the bus symbol on your map or
investigate the bus stop with your magnifying glass. This will bring up a screen
with the choices as to where you want to go. The only available place right now
is Kensington.

Check the chimney that's smoking for a Hint Coin (077), then check the green
trash can near Luke's mother for another (078). For the last one, look at the
store sign for the big building and then tap on the left window above the sign
(079). There are also two mystery items here, the RED TELEPHONE BOX on the left
side and the BARBER'S POLE on the right. Talk to Brenda, who will give you
another puzzle.

PUZZLE 024 - Mutual Meeting Place
Picarats - 30

Four friends are going to the theatre and plan to meet at the bus stop outside.
Each one gives you clues as to which stop and route they will take and it's up
to you to find the exact stop they're meeting at.

- Narrowing down the options for what A and B say, the proposed route has to be
  on the purple line, since B has a direct route with no changes
- Using this information, we know that C changes routes where the red/green
  intersect, then stops at the second stop, meaning it has to be two down from
  the intersection
- D has two options, both with the same number of stops (in this case two)

The answer you're looking can easily be pointed out by using D. Go left once and
then the answer is the stop to the northwest of that (or go northwest once, then
west once to the answer).

You receive Brenda's Dress Up request after solving the puzzle, and Luke notices
that Aurora has wandered off. It seems she decided to go towards the museum, so
go to your map and head there next. For Hint Coins, check the briefcase to the
left of the snoring statue (080), the chimney to the right of the two trees on
the left side (081) and the window to the right (not far right) of the two trees
on the right (082).

There's also another collection item here, Worn Bracelet, which is on the bench
on the right. With all that done, talk to Aurora and then talk to the policeman
in front of the museum's doors for a puzzle.

PUZZLE 025 - Cracking Combinations
Picarats - 30

A legendary safe-cracker sends a warning to the police, saying he's going to
break into the bank and take the treasure from one of the safes numbered 1 to
60. He's only going to steal from the one safe whose number cannot be made by
ADDING together any combination of the following numbers: 0, 1, 2, 4, 7, 15 and
31. Each number can only be used once.

Starting from 1, you can add 0 to it to get 1. From this, you can start adding
together the various combinations. Begin by doing easy calculations and going
from 1-14, then you can start adding up others to get higher numbers. Note that
if you add up 1, 2, 4, 7 and 15, you get 29, but no possible combination can be
produced for the number 30, as 31 + 0 = 31. Thus, the answer is 30.

You get a new garden for Bloom Burst (Lily Lake), and the officer says that the
museum is closed because of a robbery. Go back to High Street, then go inside
the boutique to get Aurora a new outfit. After some scenes, follow Grosky to
Raven's Way and watch the next scene.

Once everything is in order, check the first cat in the center for a Hint Coin
(083), then check the fan on top of the metal pipe on the right side for another
(084). For the last coin, first open up the manhole cover, then tap on the can
in the lower left corner to kick it and make a ball roll into the sewer, which
makes the Hint Coin pop (085). Check out the ventilation fan for the GREASY
VENTILATION FAN mystery item.

Investigate the black cat on the window sill on the right for a puzzle.

PUZZLE 026 - Copy Cats
Picarats - 40

There are two cats, who move at the same time whenever you make a move. Your
goal is to make them get back home at exactly the same time, while avoiding
sewers, each other and the edges of the screen. Note that if a cat gets within
one space of the fish, then they will automatically jump onto the fish.

Without taking into account the cats turning:

- Tap down three times to have them in opposite corners
- Tap right two times
- Tap up two times
- Tap right once to make them arrive at home

Head back to the map and use the bus to travel to the Aerodome. In the upper
right corner of the screen is a weathervane, so investigate it to get the
WEATHERVANE WITCH mystery item. There's also a yellow vehicle sitting in front
of the large gate, which will net you the Blissful Boot collection item if you
tap on it.

As far as Hint Coins are concerned, check the nozzle on the hose laying on the
ground for one (086), as well as the yellow sign with the airplane on it for
another (087). The last one can be found by investigating the light of the tall
lamppost (088). If you try to board the Bostonius or use the bus stop, Granny R
will appear, so talk to her. Basically, if you miss any puzzles during the game,
you will be able to talk to Keats on the airship to try your hand at solving
them again.

Board the Bostonius now and talk to Raymond, then Sycamore when he shows up.
Head back to the Aerodome and you'll find Grosky and his sister, Amelie, out
front. Talk to them for a puzzle.

PUZZLE 027 - A Heart of Tiles
Picarats - 30

This puzzle is similar to Puzzle 019 - A Dog of Tiles, except you need to make a
heart with the tiles this time and your tiles are 3x3 now.

- Start by placing a white one in the top left corner
- Place a red one to the right of the white one, overlapping the middle and
  right columns
- Make it so you mirror the left on the right
- Now, place a white tile in the exact middle, along the top
- Place a red tile in the middle, along the bottom
- Place two white tiles in the bottom left corner and the bottom right
- Along the left side, place a red tile one row down from the top, repeating it
  on the right side as well
- Find the exact center of the screen, then move left one row and place a red
  tile, doing the exact same for the right
- Find the exact center of the screen, then move down on row and place a red
  tile to finish off the puzzle

PUZZLE 028 - Directing a Delivery
Picarats - 40

A little girl is waiting for a delivery of flowers from a ball-riding clown and
your goal is to guide him to her. This is done by assigning four commands to
four different animals, which will make the clown navigate his way to the girl.
One thing to note is that the clown will pass over every single square, which
helps in trying to assign the commands.

- Assign turn right to cat
- Assign turn left to bear
- Assign straight ahead to rabbit
- Assign skip square to elephant

Head back to Kensington and go to Raven's Way (the alley), where you can talk to
a policeman for another puzzle.

PUZZLE 029 - Carriages of Justice
Picarats - 30

There are three fugitives trying to escape on board a train, with them hiding in
different carriages, except for the first and last one. The police's idea was to
have a man in each of the carriages with the fugitives, as well as one on either
side. Your goal is to find out how many officers were in the team, using the
clue that it was the smallest team possible.

Thinking about this logistically, you would need to have at the most, three
officers for each fugitive (one for the carriage it's in, plus one for each
side). However, breaking it down, you know there are at least 5 carriages on the
train. Placing the three fugitives in the middle three cars, you would only need
two more in front and back ones (still maintaining the rule of an officer in the
car, and one on each side).

Thus, the answer to this puzzle is FIVE officers.

Take the bus to Scotland Yard now, but don't go inside just yet. Instead, go
back to the Aerodome and board the Bostonius. Here, talk to Raymond in order to
get a puzzle.

PUZZLE 030 - Airship's Destination 2
Picarats - 40

This is similar to the first puzzle, where you need to plan the route for
Bostonius. Remember that you will need to hit every location on the map, and
don't forget to refuel at the stations.

- Move right two times, then down twice to the first station
- Move left, up, left and down to the second station
- Move down and right twice to the third station
- Move right twice, then up twice to the last station
- Lastly, go up, left and then down to finish the puzzle

Return to Scotland Yard and tap the big clock tower to get the BRITISH CLOCK
TOWER mystery item, then do the same on the fire hydrant for the FIRE HYDRANT
mystery item. As for Hint Coins, find the clock tower again and click on the
brick chimney right in front of it for one (089), then tap on the puddle by the
fire hydrant for another (090). Towards the right side of the screen is a green
dome sticking out from above the buildings, which houses the final coin here
(091).

Once you've gotten everything, speak with the woman in front of the entrance for
a puzzle.

PUZZLE 031 - For the Heart!
Picarats - 40

Your goal here is to open the box by tapping on 10 of the buttons, which turn
orange when you do. However, there are ten specific ones you need to press in
order to solve the puzzle. The biggest clue as to which buttons to press comes
from the line, "A star of ten lights bright as fire." Basically, you are looking
for a star-shaped pattern on the lid, which can be found towards the right side.

Find the column of buttons on the far right, of which there should be four. From
the second from the top, look just to the left of it and you should see the
star-shaped pattern. Press all the buttons and then hit Submit to open the box
and finish the puzzle.

You'll receive a new garden for Bloom Burst (Wonderland) for solving the puzzle
and you will be able to go inside the station, so go back to your map and head
inside. To find the Hint Coins here, check the clock hanging up (092), the flyer
with the car on the left side (093) and the flyer on the notice board on the
right side (094). On the left side, get the WAITING ROOM BENCH mystery item.

Talk to the policeman and you'll be able to enter the next area, Bloom's office.
The phone on the desk is the DETECTIVE'S PHONE mystery item. Check the cabinet
below the bookshelf on the right for a Hint Coin (095), then check the left
light on the ceiling for another (096). The last one is on the window blinds on
the right (097). Talk to Bloom, who will allow you to go to the Archives.

In the Archives, check the box on top of the bookshelf on the far left to find
the Confusing Stamp collection item, and there's the CAMERA mystery item on the
smaller bookshelf in front of that. As for the Hint Coins, check the bottom row
underneath the camera for one (098), then check the upside down trash can for
another (099). The last one is gotten by checking the light on top of the ladder
(100).

Inspect the stack of books on the ground by the bookshelf on the left for a
puzzle.

PUZZLE 032 - Bibliofiling
Picarats - 30

You have to arrange the books onto the bookshelves, but there is a unique system
in place for that. The numbers next to and above each shelf indicate how many
books should be in that row or column. Some books are part of a series, so
they're bundled together, but you can rotate them if you need to do that.

- Start with the four-book series, with the first one going in the row with 6
  books (only one spot for four books).
- The second red set goes in the far right column (rotate)
- The last red set goes in the second row from the top, in the columns for
  (3, 5, 2, 1) books
- Next are the blue books, with the first going in the "5" column, in between
  the two red sets (rotate)
- The second set of blue books goes in the top row, in the two "3" columns
- The last set of blue books goes in the second column from the right, in the
  spots that line up with the two middle of the red set
- For the green books, place one in the "5" column (only one spot available)
- The second goes in the "3" row, to the right of the blue book and underneath
  the red one
- The last green book goes in the first "3" column, directly above the red book

Talk to both Luke and Emmy, who should mention looking in the area to the right
of the ladder, so zoom in there. Check the bin with the bunch of papers on the
floor for a Hint Coin (101), then investigate the cardboard boxes that are
stacked in the back to continue the story. Head back to the university and speak
to Brenda (Luke's mother) in front for a puzzle.

PUZZLE 033 - Shopping Spree

A woman saved up some money and went to the supermarket to spend it all. She
bought a total of 14 items for 5,000 pennies, taking note that she didn't visit

create a path from the start to the goal, with the next item always being
adjacent to the previous one.

Starting with the potato (240), go right, down, down and right to the banana.
Next, go right, up, up, left and up to the meat. Lastly, go right, right, down
and down to the end to finish the puzzle.

PUZZLE 034 - The Future Awaits
Picarats - 30

A man visits a florist on the first floor of a hotel and is waiting for an
elevator, as he's about to propose to his girlfriend, who is waiting on the 25th
floor. It takes 15 seconds to go from the first floor to the fifth floor, so you
will need to find out how long it takes to reach the 25th floor.

This is a little tricky at first, as you need to realize that you're looking for
the number of floors you're traveling, not the actual floor. Since you're going
up only four floors from the first to the fifth and it's only 24 floors you're
really travelling. Taking that into account, it will take a total of 90 seconds.

Head to the museum and speak to the policeman to get inside. Once inside, check
the plaque in front of the T-Rex to get a Hint Coin (102), then check the
railing right when it reaches the second floor for another (103). For the last
one, check the little arrow sign to the right of the policeman (104). Check the
plane hanging up to get the PROTOTYPE AIRPLANE mystery item.

Once you're finished with the room, talk to the two policemen and you'll be able
to zoom in on the room to the left. Check the two statues in the room for Hint
Coins (105 & 106), then talk to Clark for a puzzle.

PUZZLE 035 - Fake Fragments
Picarats - 30

The police recovered an artefact that was stolen, but it was broken. While
looking at it to try and repair it, the curator noticed some pieces were fake.
You need to compare it to the photo in the catalog to determine which pieces are
real and which are fake.

One of the first things you should notice is that the photograph is it's
mirrored, which you can tell thanks to the numbers on the left. Taking this into
account, you should see that most of the pieces on the bottom are still in the
same orientation. Thus, the real pieces (there are two of them) are those that
are mirrored from the photograph.

- One with a vertical line and a tree to the right of it
- One that looks similar to a fish

You receive the Angel Wings clothing item for solving the puzzle. Whenever
you're ready, speak with Clark again to start a mini-game of sorts. He will ask

first World Times (Chippy Draws Huge Crowds), then talking to the policeman on

PUZZLE 102 - Troubled Waters 3

A storm has ravaged the village and destroyed the bridge, and it's up to you to
use the random pieces given to construct a new one. There is some debris already
there, meaning you can't place any pieces there. Also, all pieces will fit
nicely so there won't be any free spaces.

- Place sandy-looking piece in bottom right corner (rotate to fit)
- Rotate the truck piece so it stands vertically and the little piece is on the
  right, then place it in the bottom left corner
- Rotate the green pipe piece and place it along the right side
- The gray piece fits in the middle, just left of the sandy piece
- The reddish-orange piece fits along the left side, just above the blue truck
- Fitting snugly against the previous piece, place the yellow part along the
  top (rotate it so its longest length is at the top)
- Fit the remaining piece in to finish the puzzle

to the policeman in front of the door, who says you can't enter until you have
solved at least 25 puzzles. Once you do, go inside and talk to Grosky, then head

regain control, talk to Lucille and Roland, then head inside the Bostonius where
you take off, bringing this chapter to a close.

Chapter 4 is a very long chapter, as there are multiple places to visit and a
good number of puzzles as well. Thus, this chapter will be split according to
the new places you visit, with each location having its own search code (as
shown in the Table of Contents).

As the chapter begins, you are introduced to the navigational system on board
the Bostonius. Simply touch the screen above the captain's chair (or the ship
icon on the bottom screen) and tap on a destination to be brought there. In
fact, this works similar to the bus system in London. Anyways, there are many
puzzles and items that can be gotten before continuing with the story.

Speak with Sycamore to get a puzzle.

PUZZLE 036 - Fuel's Errand

Something has gone wrong with the Bostonius' engine, with the pipes that supply
it with fuel being shattered into little pieces. It's your job to reconnect all
the pipes so the engine connects again to the fuel supply. Note that the pieces
make up one long pipe, so all pieces will need to link up.

- The long horizontal piece goes in the upper left corner
- The long vertical piece goes on the leftmost side, underneath the one above
- Take one of the two horizontal, disconnected pipes and place it immediately to
  the right of the first piece
- Use another of the horizontal, disconnected pipes and place it to the right of
  the last one, but make it so the top part connects to the bottom part of the
  previous one
- Take the 7-shaped one with the one pipe and place it in the upper right corner
- The backwards L-shaped one with a section that goes down goes in the bottom
  right corner
- The other 7-shaped one goes underneath the long horizontal piece
- The last two pieces should be easy to fit, so place them and hit submit to
  finish the puzzle

should see a white square towards the upper left on the bottom screen. You
cannot place any pipes on that white square.

- Take the backwards 7-shaped piece that goes right and down and place in the
  upper left corner
- The straight vertical piece connects to the previous piece
- Take the horizontal piece that bends up on both ends and connect the left end
  to the previous piece
- The L-shaped piece that bends down at the bottom and right at top connects to
  previous piece
- The L-shaped piece that bends left at the top and up on the bottom connects to
  to the first piece
- The only piece with disconnected pipes connects to the red pipe at the top
- For the blue pipe at the bottom, you want the vertical piece with a bend to
  the right at the top
- Take the other horizontal piece (with a bend on the right side) and place it
  in the middle
- The backwards 7-shaped piece with a bend going down at top and left at the
  bottom goes in the upper right corner
- The 7-shaped piece with a bend going up at the top and left at the bottom goes
  in the bottom right corner
- The last two pieces should be obvious as to their position, so place them and
  hit submit to finish

The king places a jewel so large and precious on his crown, that he makes it
unwearable. He places a challenge to give the crown to the person who thinks
they can guess how many jewels are on the crown.

There are a total of 18 jewels on the crown. There's one on top, 8 on the arches
and 8 along the bottom, making 17. Add the one that rendered the crown
unwearable (even if you can't see it) and you have 18.

each plate can hold a total of nine strawberries.

Go back to your ship and fly to Kohd, with your first stop being the Lakeside
Forest area (it's to the left). Talk top Hazel (the squirrel) for a puzzle.

PUZZLE 040 - Acorn Allocation

Three squirrels are on their way home and pick up acorns along the way. Each
clearing they pass, the squirrels will pick up all the acorns there before
moving to the next one. The clearings have a number on them, indicating how many
acorns they have. The squirrel at the top goes first, followed by the middle and
the bottom goes last. Note that any clearing they pass through that another
squirrel already did will have no acorns.

- Top squirrel goes diagonally from top left to bottom right (4, 4, 2, 4, 8)
- Middle squirrel goes from 6, to 4 (none), then 7, 2 and 7
- Bottom squirrel goes diagonally from bottom left to top right (8, 6, 2, 2, 8)

Following the paths above, each squirrel will end up with 22 acorns in total.

PUZZLE 041 - Shunting into Sidings

The in-game description is a bit confusing, but you need to move the train's
engine, with the two railcars, and place it along the top set of tracks to match
the ones shown on the very top tracks. The engine will automatically lock onto
the railcars when in range, and you can tap the railcars to disconnect the
engine. If you want to change the junctions (highlighted in orange), touch the
lever in the bottom right.

- Move the engine to the left side and attach both railcars
- Move the railcars to the top row, lining them up with the static ones, then
  unattach the railcars
- Move the engine clockwise all the way to the other side, attaching it so the
  back of it connects with both railcars (red in middle)
- Tap the switch to change the junctions, then move the whole thing clockwise
  to the top track, matching the above one

PUZZLE 042 - A Boatload of Hassle

A boatbuilder has six orders for rowing boats, with each boat requiring ten logs
in order to build them. The timber merchant has the exact number needed, but you
need to buy them in adjacent sets. The biggest problem is that one of the blocks
contains an unknown number of logs, but it's definitely not more than five. You
need to divide up the blocks into sets of four, with each set containing ten
logs.

Knowing that the merchant has the exact number required for six boats, and each
boat needing ten logs, that means he has a total of 60 logs. Taking this into
account, count the number of logs in the rest of the blocks and you'll find out
that the unknown block contains five logs. The solution is below.

Go to your trunk and read the World Times article titled "A Prehistoric
Visitor?" Once you do, go to the Level Crossing area and speak with Boris, who
lets you into his cabin. Inside, you will be able to find five Hint Coins. On
the right side is a dresser with a dolphin statue on top; check the bottom
drawer for one (107), then check the red lure hanging from the ceiling for
another (108). The top of the smaller doors on the oven houses a coin (109).

In the top left corner of the screen is a broken piece of the ceiling, which
yields another Hint Coin (110). For the last one, find the fish on the table and
keep tapping it until the coin pops up (three taps; 111). Check the ship's wheel
hanging on the back wall for the Useless Submarine collection item, then
investigate the boots for BORIS'S BOOTS mystery item. The dolphin statue before
is also another mystery item (DOLPHIN ORNAMENT). Talk to Boris, then you can
leave Kodh.

Your next stop is London, with Scotland Yard as your final destination. Head
inside to the Reception area and talk to the policeman there for a puzzle.

PUZZLE 043 - A String of Jewels
Picarats - 40

A group of thieves decided to break in and steal the jewels, but it's possible
to round them all up without letting them get to the jewels. You need to use
every post in the room and trap all the thieves within a single loop of rope.
Some of the rope loop is already marked and all of the jewels need to be on the
outside. Each post can only be used once and if one isn't used, then the loop
will turn red.

The solution to this puzzle is below, with J marking a jewel and R marking a
robber.

PUZZLE 044 - Staged Silhouettes

You took some instant film silhouettes for a concert and one of the test shots
accidentally made it into the pile of final shots. There are four shots and you
need to find out which one is the test shot. This can be done by turning on the
light and comparing the silhouettes to the photos.

Basically, you want to compare the locations of the shadows to those in the
pictures. One light comes from the left, one from the center and one from the
right. Once you figure out the order of the silhouettes in each set, you'll be
able to tell which one is the test shot.

The test shot is letter C.

It's now time to continue with the story, so fly to the Jungle and then head to
the Village Square area. Tap the mountaintop in the distance for a Hint Coin

(114). There is also a purple mushroom in the lower right that is the PURPLE
MUSHROOM mystery item. Talk to the lady in front of the cauldron for a puzzle.

PUZZLE 045 - Piglet Racing

Some piglets are about ready to race, but they can't start until they're lined
up correctly. The only problem is that they're scared to be moved alone, so you
need to move them two at a time. Slide the pen and position around until it's
above the two animals you want to move, then slide the animals into it.

- Place 2 and 4 into the right slots
- Place 1 and 2 into the left slots
- Place 5 and 3 to the left of 4
- Place 3 and 4 into their respective slots to finish

PUZZLE 046 - Blooming Flowers 2

This puzzle is similar to Puzzle 014, where you need to place the flowers so
that the colors are alternating. This one, obviously, is a little tougher, as
you will need to rotate the pieces to fit the solution.

- Long vertical piece goes in the upper left corner
- Square piece goes just left of the house, in the central rows
- Take the square piece with the one extra flower and rotate it so that extra
  piece sticks out to the right; place it just above the square
- Take the two-flower piece and go to the upper right corner; it goes one spot
  down from the upper right
- You have two pieces that can fit in the upper right now; the one with four
  flowers goes there, with the pink flowers on the left side
- Take the long piece with one flower sticking out, rotate it so the lone
  flower is on top and place it on the bottom left corner
- The last two pieces should be easy to place, as there's only certain ways both
  will fit

Head north to the Grand Stage area now. Check the torch farthest to the right
for a Hint Coin (115), then check one of the background trees in the upper right
for another (116). There's some torches on the left side (Luke burns himself by
being curious), with some blue decorations in between; investigate the blue
decoration for a coin (117). The last coin can be found just left of the last
person sitting on the left side (118).

Tap the man you met at the village's entrance (Chestnut) for a short scene, then
talk to the guy in front (Blewitt). Head back to the Village Square and speak
with Amanita, who says to ask the chief's family. Go to the new area and check
the flytrap for the VENUS FLYTRAP mystery item. There's another item in the top
right, which is the LEAF INSECT mystery item, as well as the Unbelievable
Boomerang collection item in the pot to the right of the flytrap.

As for Hint Coins, check the jar to the right of the person (119), then check
the upper balcony of the house behind the person (120). The last one is located
at the tip of the skinny plant that is next to the flytrap (121). Talk to the
little girl (Button) for a puzzle.

PUZZLE 047 - Fowl Food
Picarats - 40

There's this tropical bird that doesn't have a very good diet, as it only eats
one type of fruit each day. Each day, the birdkeeper places a fruit into each of
four different-colored boxes, where the bird will pick which one it wants. Last
week, the birdkeeper noticed that the bird took from the blue box 5 times, the
red box 4 times, the green box 5 times and the yellow box 3 times. You need to
figure out which fruit the bird ate on each day.

This can be a little tricky, but first thing you should do is add up the total
number of fruit eaten, which is 17. Looking at Thursday through Sunday, each day
has two apples and two oranges available, meaning the bird ate a total of 8
fruits on those days. This leaves 9 fruits to eat from Monday to Wednesday, and
you can use the yellow box to figure out the rest.

Apple - Monday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Orange - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

You'll receive a new Nutty Roller course (Tumble Forest) after finishing the
puzzle. Go west to the Tree Trunk Bridge area and check the far end of the
bridge (the farthest hole) for a Hint Coin (122). There's a piece of the bridge
sticking out on the left, followed by another bigger piece; the top portion will
yield another coin (123). The last coin in this area can be gotten from the
small red flower (124). Check the tree in the top left corner for the ATLAS
BEETLE mystery item.

For now, investigate the dark patch on the ground (towards the left side), then
check the big red, rafflesia flower afterwards. Go back to the previous area and
you'll be able to enter the Chief's House area next. Check the bananas hanging
for a coin (125), as well as as the red ornament next to the purple thing on the
dresser for another (126). One of the bird boxes towards the top (the middle
one) has another Hint Coin (127), and the last is found from the bowl with the
grinder on the far left side (128).

There are also two mystery items here, the BIRD BOX at the very top, as well as
the GOLDEN MASK next to the yellow fruits hanging up. If you check the very same
fruits hanging up, you can get the Admiral Tie collection item. Investigate the
brownish-colored bag above the mushrooms for a puzzle.

This puzzle is similar to Puzzle 040, where you need to figure out a path for
each squirrel, starting with the top. When a squirrel reaches a clearing, they

You have to pick fruit for three bossy children, all of whom have various
demands. A wants all the fruit to be the same color and to have one more piece

fruit from a tree next to the one B gets theirs, wants one more piece than her
and wants them all to be the same color.

- A gets three yellow fruits
- B gets one green fruit
- C gets two blue fruits

On his way home, a young boy gets lost, but manages to bump into eight forest
animals. They tell him which way to go in exchange for apples. The mouse guides
him one square closer, the rabbit two, the foxes three and the bear four
squares. He never meets the same type of animal twice in a row and he doesn't
meet any animals on squares with bare trees.

Only the squares with grown trees will be counted, since those with bare trees
have no animals. M is mouse, F is fox, R is rabbit and B is bear, with X marking
the goal

are two spaces apart.

You'll receive a new Bloom Burst garden (Tropical Turf) after finishing the
puzzle. Now, head to the new area you unlocked before called Jungle Waterfall.
The base of the tree in the upper left houses a collection item (Magic Bean),
and the HUMMINGBIRD right in front of you is a mystery item.

The purple flower in the bottom left has a Hint Coin (129), the small bush in
the bottom right has another (130) and the triangle-looking plant on the left
side next to the waterfall has the third (131). Examine the base of the tree on
the right (it gives the effect for a collection item, but is not) for a puzzle.

PUZZLE 052 - An Epic Quest

This brave young man's village is being attacked by a powerful and evil king. As
anyone who knows of great legends will be able to tell you, there is always a
sword bearing incredible power locked in a chest, hidden deep within the forest.
This is nothing but a traditional sliding puzzle, although you need to follow
the instructions below to finish it. You begin by sliding the pieces around the
open space.

- Move up, left, down and right
- Move down, right, up and left
- Move up, left, down and down
- Move right, up, up and left
- Move down, down, down and left
- Move up, right, down and left
- Move up, up, right and down
- Move down, left, up (will grab the key) and right
- Move right, down, left and up
- Move right and down to open the chest

At the top of the waterfall is a boulder you can inspect, which causes Emmy to
climb and kick it in place to stop the flow of the waterfall. This opens up a
new area for you to explore, called Stalactite Cave. There are two mystery items
here, the BATS hanging towards the right in the middle, and the BABY FROGS at
the bottom, in the pool of water.

Check the two blue mushrooms for a Hint Coin (132), where the dripping water
hits the ground for another (133) and the smaller set of crystals at the top for
a third (134). Once you're done, look at the blue crystals in the top right,
then check the big pillar to make it fall. This allows you to zoom in on the
crystals, allowing you to grab some Glittering Crystals.

Exit the cave and you should see both Chelmey and Amelie standing there. Talk to
Amelie for a puzzle.

PUZZLE 053 - The Domino Effect

There is a cluster of legendary ancient stones, which have been said to
guarantee healthy crops for an entire year if all of them are toppled by just
pushing one of them over. It's up to you to find that stone and circle it using
your stylus. This puzzle is a bit misleading, as the stone you need to circle is
the very big one in the top right corner.

Go all the way back to the Grand Stage and talk to the chief. You will now have
to choose the three items needed to give to the villagers for Layton's plan.
Assuming the four items are under each person, give the top left for Polish, top

Once you land on the Island, head to the first area and check the bottle on the
ground for the Counterfeit Coral collection item. Check the crab to the right of
the bottom for the HERMIT CRAB mystery item, and there's also the STRAW HAT
mystery item in the background, on the beach (it's on a stick).

As for the Hint Coins, check the butterfly on the palm tree on the left (135),
the sailboat in the distance (136), the buoy underneath the boy fishing on the
pier (137), and the lighthouse in the upper right corner of the screen (138).
Speak to the man by the sailboat in the foreground (name is Javier), who says to
go to the market.

For Hint Coins, look at the lighthouse on top of the hill (139), the boat with
the poponos on the right (140), the yellow doll hanging up on the left (141),
the scale in between the two kids (142), and the window on the door on the left
with the cat in front of it (143). To the left of the hanging yellow doll is a
stand with the GOLDEN CROWN mystery item.

Investigate the boat with the greenish-blue sail for a puzzle.

PUZZLE 054 - A Trio of Trouble

A set of triplets have invited you to join them for some boating on the lake,
but you can only find two of them in the open, meaning one of them must be
hiding on one of the boats.

There are two signs you can use in order to find which boat the third triplet is
hiding in, with the first one being to shake your 3DS. When you do this, you see
one person showing signs of distress. The other sign is that boat #6 is slightly
lower in the water than the others, indicating that something, or someone, else
is in it.

The answer is boats 2, 3 and 6.

Talking to Martine (on the right) will open up a new area, so head there next.
There are four Hint Coins in this area, which can be found by checking the
cbimney of the house with the plants on the balcony (144), the chimney of the
building to the left of the lightpost (145), the yellow fruit (must tap three

balcony for the Bashful Sunflower collection item. Speak to the girl with the
blue hair (Miranda) for a puzzle.

PUZZLE 055 - Very Specific Scoops
Picarats - 30

In your ice cream shop, you overhear someone mumbling to himself about the ice
cream he wants on his cone. He wants three scoops on his cone. There are a total
of five flavors and his choices are as follows:

- Neither of the flavors on the ends on the bottom
- He doesn't want chocolate, which is C
- The middle scoop needs to be one of the flavors that's second from the ends
- Vanilla, which is B, needs to be below one of the ones next to it
- Pistachio, which is D, doesn't go in the middle

Using the guidelines provided, he doesn't want C at all, but does want B and D.
B goes below one of the ones next to it, but that can't be C, so it must be A,
meaning E has no inclusion. The middle scoop is one of the flavors that's second
from the ends, but D (one of those two) doesn't go in the middle, meaning B
does.

The answer is D goes on the bottom, B in the middle and A on top.

board to highlight a sign (another arrow).

- Place the triangle piece in the upper right
- The long, skinny rectangular piece goes in the upper left
- The big rectangle goes along the top, to the right of the last piece
- See the yellow triangle at the top of the board? The rectangle with an angle
  going down and to the left goes to the right of the previous piece
- Take the rectangular piece with curved sides and place it so the bottom of the
  previous piece is in the middle of the top side
- The rectangular piece with a section cut out needs to be rotated, so the cut
  portion is on top and is placed along the bottom, in the exact center
- The red rectangular piece goes along the right, underneath the triangle
- Underneath the previous piece is the smallest rectangular piece
- Take the orange L-shaped piece, rotate to mimic the actual letter and place it
  in the bottom left corner
- The other L-shaped piece doesn't need to be rotated and can be placed in the
  slot created by the previous piece
- Take the S-shaped piece and rotate it so the shorter end is on the bottom,
  placing it on the bottom right
- All that's left are the two curved pieces, which fit into the corners in the
  middle of the puzzle (to create the curves for an arrow)

lobster on the right (tap three times; 148), the ceiling fan closer to you
(149), the chimes above the toucan bird (150), and the left appliance on the
counter (151).

There are also two mystery items here, the FLAMBOYANT DRINK (the one with the
sparkler on the counter) and FISH DISH on the right (behind the lobster). Speak
with Bud, then head back one area to have another meeting with the Targent
agents. Once this is over, a few new areas will open up, so head north from the
Floating Market first.

For Hint Coins here at the Lighthouse, check the trash can on the left (152),
the bushes in the bottom right corner (153), and the square post on the left on
the wall (154). The BINOCULARS are also a mystery item. Talk to Javier for a

- Move left once and board blue boat, and then orange boat immediately
- Move right twice and go back down to blue boat
- Move left five times and board the orange boat, then red boat immediately
- Move right three times and board orange boat
- Move left once and board purple boat, then move right three times to finish

Head back to your map and west to the Hilltop Hotel Entrance, where you can find
more Hint Coins and items. The Hint Coins are located by checking the
second/third single windows below the green dome at the top of the screen (155),
the second window to the right of the tree with the bananas hanging from it
(156), and the pillar furthest from you by the hotel's entrance (157).

Remember the tree with the bananas hanging from it? The banana is a mystery item
(BANANA PLANT) and the waterfall is another (WATER SPOUT). Talk to Martine (girl
with hat), then talk to Robin and Macaw. Head inside the hotel next.

There are three Hint Coins inside the hotel lounge, which can be found by
checking the plant right in front of you (158), the gray fish to the right of
the counter (159) and the bell on the counter (160). The WHITE SOFA is a mystery
item, as well as the BLOWFISH in the tank behind it. The ceiling fan has a
collection item (My Planet Kit).

PUZZLE 059 - Lovely Pairs

Ladies A to D are on a two-day holiday with gentlemen E to H. Thy visit a
different tourist spot in male-female pairs each day, and they choose a
different partner on the second day.

- A and E go to jungle on first day
- B and F go to prairie on first day
- C and G go to seaside on first day
- D and H go to canyon on first day
- B and E go to seaside on second day
- C goes to canyon on second day

You need to find out who G went with and where on the second day. B and E are
partners on the second day, so neither are partners with anyone else. Since C
went with G on the first day and can't go with E, she has F and H as potential
partners, but H went to the canyon on the first day, so she went with F on the
second day. Since H was with D on the first day, he is with A on the second.

That leaves G's partner to be D. As for the location, A/H has two possible
spots, which are the jungle and prairie. A went to the jungle on the first day,
so they went to the prairie on the second. That leaves the jungle for D/G's
destination on the second day.

You receive the Striped V-Neck clothing item after finishing the puzzle. Leave
the hotel and go to the Beachside Walkway, where you need to speak with Miranda.
After that, head to the market and you'll have to answer some questions.

PUZZLE 061 - Be My Guest

Taking a look at the hotel's guest book, you have to figure out how many guests
were staying there on the night of the 24th. You start with 25 guests staying
there on the 28th, with 19 checking out and 11 checking in on the 27th. On the
26th, 12 checked out and 18 checked in and on the 25th, 15 checked out and 14
checked in.

There is an easy way to solve this puzzle, as you can add the number of people
who checked out and the number of people who checked in, both of which total 59.
That means there was no increase or decrease, so if 25 stayed on the 28th, then
it has to be 25 who stayed on the 24th as well.

The answer is 25 people stayed on the 24th.

Talk to the person standing there (name is Jesse), who runs when someone yells
that Ol' Red is coming. Go to the next area, where you find out the Egg you seek
is hanging around the neck of Old Red, a big wolf. Before doing anything, head
back to the Outskirts and check the horse on the left for a puzzle.

PUZZLE 063 - Horsing Around

You have four pictures, taken at four different times of the day, of a horse
running along a straight path through a forest. Your goal is to determine which
of the six trees is the closest to the camera.

The answer is that tree E is the closest.

Go back up to Main Street and search for some Hint Coins. They are located by
checking the hanging sign of the building on the right (165), the sign of the
green building on the left (166), the blacksmith's bench on the right (167), and

PUZZLE 064 - Thick As Thieves
Picarats - 35

A trio of brothers, who are robbers, are so good, that even their breathing is
synchronized. For this puzzle, you need to move a cart around while two of the
brothers drop some goods down below. The problem is that the cart must be
balanced, with the weight being distributed evenly in a square shape. You can
drag the cart left and right using the stylus, then hit the box icon when you're
ready for a piece to drop.

Note that the pieces drop in order according to the thought bubble above, and
they do a 180 degree turn on the way down.

A farmer comes back to his chicken coop and finds all his chickens have gone,
thanks to someone leaving the door open. The sheriff figures it's one of four

- C says it's either A or B
- D says it's either B or C

The answer is that A is the person responsible.

You can zoom in on the waterfall on the far right, which reveals Old Red

then leave the cave and go back to Flint. Go back to Torrido Outskirts and speak
with Dariya for a puzzle.

PUZZLE 073 - Counting Sheep

A farmer has around 400 sheep and he attempts to count them to find exactly how
many. When counted three at a time, he had one left over. When counted four at a
time, there was two left over. When he counted them five at a time, he had four
left over. And when he counter seven at a time, he had two left over.

Start by using the "five at a time, four left over" clue and you'll see that the
sheep count ends with a 4 or 9. The clue stating "four at a time, two left
over" narrows this down to the count ending with a 4. The farmer has around 400
sheep in total, so find a number that ends with a 4 in that range that is
divisible by 7 (with a remainder of two), and you'll get 324, 394 and 464.

The answer is that the farmer has 394 sheep.

A gets the ice cream, B gets pie, C gets chocolate and D gets cake.

PUZZLE 075 - Golden Butterfly

You have three fruity syrups in front of you that when mixed together correctly,
the concoction will attract a golden butterfly. However, if it's too sweet, it
will attract bees and if it's not sweet enough, it will attract the green
beetle.

Mix two parts pineapple, one part apple and two parts blueberry to get the right
mix for the golden butterfly.

Talk to Julien, who is too down to be able to help out in trying to rescue
Romilda. Go to Windy Way and talk to Rik, then go back to the chapel and talk to
Sheppard again. Back to the Watering Trough to speak with Piet, then Beatrix
will show up and talk to you how to get through the forest to the chapel. Return
to Julien and then head inside the windmill.

Once inside, hunt for Hint Coins by checking the wood pile on the right (197),
the place where you place the wood on the stove (198), the light hanging above
the ladder on the right (199) and the bucket of water on the left (200). The big
cog sitting next to the oven on the left is a mystery item (MASSIVE COGWHEEL),
and so are the white wheels near the top (MILLSTONE).

If you've done Puzzle 102 earlier, this is similar to that. If you didn't, then
you basically have to placed the shapes in the bottom screen, so you can create
a makeshift bridge for the villagers.

- Take the piece in the bottom right and rotate it to make it look like a
  backwards F, then place it in the bottom right corner
- The piece that looks like a backwards L goes in the upper right corner, after

- Go left, down and right to the third strawberry
- Go up and right twice to the fourth strawberry
- Go up and right twice to the fifth, and final, strawberry

You'll receive a new item of clothing (Sensible Coat) for solving the puzzle.
You should be in a room with rocks blocking your way. There's a gourd on the
left side, which is a mystery item (BOTTLE GOURD). Right near that is a green
fruit, which has a Hint Coin (201). Tap the pumpkin on the ground three times
for another coin (202), then the four-leaf clover just to the right of the
pumpkin has the third coin (203).

Inspect the boulders, then tap them one by one to move them out of the way (top
right, big one, then bottom). Head into the chapel, then check the arrow-shaped
rock on the middle for a Hint Coin (204). The rock in the bottom left corner has
the Quickest Hourglass collection item.

Talk to Romilda and then inspect the altar for a puzzle.

PUZZLE 078 - All Under Control

The control panel for the device has nine buttons, one for every cylinder.
Pressing a button activates a total of seven cylinders, starting with the one
corresponding to the button pressed and then followed by every second cylinder
in a clockwise direction. Your goal is to make all nine cylinders visible by
pressing a single button. You only have three chances.

Using the top, exposed cylinder as a waypoint, press the second button to the
right.

Solving this puzzle will net you the fourth Egg. That's all there is to do here
in the Hillside region, so head back to the Bostonius and set sail for the final
region, the Walled City.

Leave the Bostonius and head to the first area, which you find has no one
around. For now, search for Hint Coins by checking the tip of the red roof on
the left side (205), the lamp connected to the chain on the right (206), and the
empty pot in the bottom right corner (207). The BAKER'S SIGN (looks like a loaf
of bread) and the SLEEPY CLOCK TOWER are two mystery items.

On the far right, tap on the door to find out no one is home, which will open up
the next area. Three Hint Coins are hidden here, so check the top of the barren
tree on the far right (208), the smoking chimney on the right (209), the chalice
on the ledge underneath the phoenix statue (210) and the grapes on the barrel on
the left (tap three times; 211).

The THATCHED ROOF on the left is a mystery item, and you can get the Melodious
Trinket collection item by checking the window below the smoking chimney (the
one with the Hint Coin). Inspect the phoenix statue now, then head back to the
city gate area and talk to the boy (Umid).

Go visit Umid's house and search for four Hint Coins, which are located by
checking the small bowl near the boiling pot (212), the hanging lamp (213), the
bread on the table on the left (214), and the small object on the bottom shelf
of the bookshelf (215). Talk to Umid, then head back to Phoenix Square and talk
to the boy there (Temir) for a puzzle.

PUZZLE 079 - Snake Squeezing x10
Picarats - 40

Squeezing a selection of slithering serpents into a small pot like this is no
problem for an experienced snake charmer. There are nine snakes in the pot at
the moment, but you will need to do some rearranging in order to fix a tenth
snake inside.

- Remove all snakes from the pot and place the longest one so its one side is
  snug against the top left corner
- The light green snake fits at the bottom, with its head fitting snugly in the
  bottom left
- Take the orange snake and place it above the light green one, with its head
  fitting in the bottom right corner
- The light pink/white snake should fit in the little space along the left side
- The green snake fits in the little space at the top, above the longest snake
- Take the pink/purple snake and place it so its head fits snugly in the top
  left space left by the longest snake
- The yellow snake will fit underneath the pink/purple one, with its tail snugly
  against it
- The tail of the blue snake should be right against the tail of the pink/purple
  snake
- Only two snakes left and it should be easy enough to fit them in the leftover
  spaces

You'll receive the Submerged Glade garden for the Bloom Burst minigame after
solving the puzzle, as well as open up the Mosinnia Forest area. Go there and

one where the first coin was (218). The sign on the left is a mystery item (KEEP
OUT SIGN).

Check the moth in the upper right corner for a puzzle.

This puzzle is similar to Puzzle 075, where you need to get a golden butterfly
by mixing together a concoction that will attract it. You can only use measures

After finishing the puzzle, head to the next area and check the top of the tower
closer to you to find the Slapdash Sculpture collection item. For Hint Coins,
check the top of the tower further from you (219), the larger of the two rocks

Speak with the bird (Adler), then return to the city and talk to Temir again.
This opens up the Preesha's Hill area, where you can get the mystery item,
BEEHIVE, on the tree. For Hint Coins, check the big blades of grass to the right
of the girl (222), the tower-like building in the background on the left side
(223), and the tree to the left of the one with the beehive (224).

Talk to the girl (Mehri) for a puzzle.

You have a picture of the hanging lampshade Mehri wants to make. It's made up of
eight triangular panels, only two of which are decorated with an image. On the

to figure out which panel will have the moon decoration.

The moon symbol goes on the panel on the very bottom.

Aurora at the top of the map using the islands and ice chunks.

- Go down and then left, down and right onto the ice to go across to the right
- Step onto the ice above you and onto the island on your right
- Go back onto the ice to your left to finish

Head to the new area, Mosinnia Temple, where you can find four Hint Coins. Check
the phoenix statue on the right on top of the temple (225), the tall stone slab
on the right side (it will break; 226), the stone slab on the left (without the

stained-glass window (top) contains the Magnificent Candle collection item. The
slab with the face on it is the FACE ON A MONUMENT mystery item, and the column
closest to you on the right side is the STONE SHEEP mystery item.

Talk to Dana, the temple keeper, who tells you to solve the mural. Inspect the
blue slab on the right to start, then zoom in on the large mural. Tap the sun on
the left three times, then the right one twice. Go back to the city gates and
check the plaque that is pointed out to you.

Zoom in on the blue slabs on the bridge, then tap the second from the right, as
well as the fourth from the right. Head to Phoenix Square next, then to the city
gates to talk to Temir for a puzzle.

"Bound by the chains of eight moons, the phoenix shall remain asleep. Only with

connected to a stone whose number is one higher or one lower than its own. Once
the chains are severed, the freed phoenix will awaken."

- Place the one with 2 dots on the far left
- Place the one with 4 dots on the far right
- Place the one with 8 dots to the right of the one with 6 dots

Begin by heading to Froenborg and going to the Slippery Street area. You should
get a new area that opens up to the left of it now (The Melted Snowflake. There
are four Hint Coins here, so check the hat hanging up (229), the apple on the
table (230), the container with logs in it next to the guy (231) and one of the
pans hanging up in the bottom right corner (232).

The chalkboard on the left side of the room has the Icicle a la Mode collection
item hidden, and the LARGE WREATH on the wall, as well as the GLASS LID on the
counter are mystery items. Talk to the man with the beard (Georg) for a puzzle.

can't pass over again.

of the numbers on each of the three pieces is the same. So, can you tell me what
time this clock is showing?"

The time that is showing is 3:45.

item, as well as the UNEXAMINED FOSSIL itself. The big box next to the Golden
Box houses the Retro Flying Sauce collection item.

As for Hint Coins, check the right box with papers sticking out on the left
side, above the shelf with the green items (242), the generator to the left of
the two tall machines (243), and the toilet paper roll that is flat on the
ground (244). Talking to Clark will place a stamp on the one World Times
article.

three lines read as follows:

"Remember fair Ambrosia, City of Harmony."

You need to find out which of the characters on the tablet represent the word,
Ambrosia. Look for the words that are the same for each line, and find the
corresponding symbols. Remember that each line in English reflects the same line
in the other language, so the first line with symbols is the first line in
English.

The first three symbols of the first line are the three you need to highlight.

H are not good, although Charlie switches his mind by saying to switch the
bottom flavor for the one from the opposite corner.

You're presented with five prizes that are connected to ropes, with you having
to pull a rope on the bottom to try and get the prize you want. You want the
teddy bear, so you need to find the rope that is connected to it.

The answer is that none of the ropes are actually connected to the teddy bear.
Instead, the rope attached to the teddy bear is to the immediate left of the
green and white rope on the far right of the screen.

PUZZLE 092 - Tank Goodness
Picarats - 30

You have a rotating fish tank in front of you with a number of fish inside that
you can have count. The bar on the top of the bottom screen can be used to
rotate the tank, allowing you see more of the tank. However, some fish like to
hide in dark places and you can gently shake your 3DS in order to lure them out
into the open for a bit.

There is a total of 17 fish in the tank.

If not, then you need to arrange the boxes in stacks of the same color and in
the following order, from left to right: red, blue, green and yellow. You can
only move four boxes at once and no stack can contain more than six boxes. Also,
you only have 30 moves or less to finish the puzzle.

The columns will be numbered from 1 to 4, from left to right.

Mr A sets off in his car to visit Miss B, who lives in a faraway town. He leaves
his town during the daytime and plans to arrive in Miss B's town during the
daytime as well. There are multiple routes to Miss B, but only one of them will
have him arriving during the day. You need to highlight the one road that will
make it so his route will have him arriving during the day.

If you go right twice and then up, the road between that spot and the one to the
left is the one that should be highlighted.

you circle with your stylus.

The second rope from the right is the correct one.

PUZZLE 095 - Troubled Waters 2

This puzzle is similar to both Puzzles 076 and 102, which you have done by now
if you're following the walkthrough. You have to place the pieces in a way in
order to create a makeshift bridge.

- The concrete piece should be rotate so the one part sticks out to the left
  and placed in the upper right corner
- Rotate the upper part of the dark wooden piece to the right and place it in
  the bottom right corner
- The sandy piece goes on the right side, in between the two above pieces
- The green pipe fits to the immediate left of the concrete piece
- The stone piece with the figure on it fits to the immediate left of the green
  pipe
- Rotate the reddish-brown piece to look like a "L" and place it in the bottom
  left corner
- The only piece left is the yellow one, which has an obvious spot

Go to the Abandoned Mine and zoom in on the right, talking to Old Red and Ruby.
Leave the mine and you'll grab the necessary items to help with Old Red, so
return to him with those. Doing this will give you a stamp on one of the World

nearby to get the Lonely Friend collection item.

It's time to leave Torrido, so fly to Hoogland next. Head to the Watering Trough
and talk to Piet, then go to Chapel Knoll and speak to the sheep (Felicia), who
will give you a puzzle.

PUZZLE 110 - Pesky Patterns

The owner of this gift shop has had such a busy day, he's run out of decorative
gift boxes. However, he spots some leftover red card and decides to make some
more from that. Using these colored cube nets, show how the owner can make eight
gift boxes with this single sheet of red card. The entire sheet of card must be
used up, and the nets must not overlap.

- Light green goes in the upper left corner
- Orange goes in the bottom left corner
- Purple goes in the bottom right corner
- Peach/white one goes above the orange one
- Blue one goes to the right of the light green
- Pink (cross-shaped) goes to the right of the blue one

- Rotate the purple one 180 degrees and place it in the bottom left corner
- Place the yellow one in the upper right corner
- Rotate the green one 90 degrees anti-clockwise and put it in the bottom right
  corner
- The light blue one fits in the open space at the bottom now
- Rotate the red one 180 degrees and place it on the left side
- The orange one (rotate 90 degrees anti-clockwise) goes along the top, leaving
  one space now for the final, brown one

carrying the most. Some pumpkins are already divided up and you need to place
the rest of them. The numbers on the pumpkins are their weight in kilograms.

- A gets 5 and 10

PUZZLE 098 - A Troublesome Tent
Picarats - 30

While on an expedition in the mountains, a powerful wind blew away these
friends' tent, leaving them exposed to the elements. They have recovered all the
pieces from the tent, but the pieces need to be stitched together so that the
colors match where the pieces touch. Note that there is also one extra piece
that was picked up, meaning that piece will not be used.

The pieces don't go in set places, but the piece that isn't used is the left
piece in the middle row. Breaking the tent into north and south parts (with four
pieces in each set), you can solve the puzzle by placing the pieces as follows:

- Place orange (left) and purple (right) in the leftmost spot of the north
- Place double purple piece to the right of that
- Place purple (right) and white (left) to the right of that
- Place double white to the right of that to complete the north section
- Place an orange/white piece to the south of the first piece placed
- Place the purple (left) and white (right) to the right of the previous piece
- Place purple/orange to the right of that
- Last piece being place is an orange/white one

After upsetting his girlfriend, a young man goes to her boutique to apologize,
but finds only a box of brownies and a message:

"Arrange these brownies to make the thing I like the most, and maybe I'll
forgive you. There are five you can't move, though, and you can't have two
toppings of the same color next to each other."

First and foremost, the description says to look at the boutique's sign to
figure out what you're trying to make. The following is the placement of the
squares at the beginning with numbers/letters assigned to each type, and X
marking pieces that cannot be moved.

Elephant gets turn left.

The king has decreed that a pyramid should be erected in his kingdom, but only
two blocks have been placed so far. There is a rule, though, which is that the
difference in number between two adjacent blocks must equal the number on the
block above them. For example, if 10 and 1 were next to each other, then the
block above them would need to be 9.

- 3 goes at the top
- 7 goes to the right of the 4
- 8 goes in bottom right corner
- 6 goes in bottom left corner
- 1 goes in between the 6 and 10

Despite taking off without a hitch, the hot-air balloon has hit a bit of a snag,
as it's terribly unbalanced. Points A, B, C and D all carry the same weight,
with the four bags connected to each point being its total weight. The dark bags
cannot be moved at all, and the numbers on each bag represent their weight in
kilograms.

- Top row (left to right) should be 4, 5, and 9
- Middle row is 7, 1, and 2
- Bottom row is 3, 6, and 8

After collecting all 5 Azran Eggs and speaking with Aurora on board the
Bostonius, it's found out that one of the Eggs was swapped out and replaced with
a fake. Returning to the Azran dome, Aurora pinpoints the location of the Egg,
which is located in Targent's headquarters, known as the Nest.

Before continuing with the story, there are more puzzles that you can find and
solve. Leave the Azran dome and go to the Level Crossing area, where you can
talk to Moos for a puzzle.

- Move around the track now until you hit the red railcar again, then move into

juice; A likes milk or tea, while B hates juice; Either B or C likes milk, while
A hates juice. You have to figure out which tip is false and serve each person
their favorite drink.

squares. He never meets the same type of animal twice in a row and he doesn't
meet any animals on squares with bare trees.

Only the squares with grown trees will be counted, since those with bare trees
have no animals. M is mouse, F is fox, R is rabbit and B is bear, with X marking
the goal.

A gang of bandits decided to break into a vault and steal the jewels, but it's
possible to round them all up without letting them get to the jewels. You need
to use every post in the room and trap all the bandits within a single loop of
rope. Some of the rope loop is already marked and all of the jewels need to be
on the outside. Each post can only be used once and if one isn't used, then the
loop will turn red.

The solution to this puzzle is below, with J marking a jewel and B marking a

commands to the four animals, so the clown can deliver the flowers to the girl

exact middle. Start anywhere, but go clockwise with each piece listed below.

- Place the top left piece in any slot, then the piece on the right in the
  middle row to the right of that
- The top row, middle piece goes next, then the top right corner piece
- The bottom middle piece is next and then the bottom left corner piece

- Move two spaces to the left and drop two blocks

Fly to The Nest and head to the first area (Waste Disposal Plant). Instead of
moving to the second spot, search for Hint Coins instead by checking the small
can floating in the water on the left (248), the red button on the wall on the
right (249), the weeds to the left of the gas tank on the right (250), and the
middle skyscraper (black shadow one) in the background (251).

The DISCARDED TYRE and the red gas tank (PLASTIC CANISTER) are two mystery
items. Head to the next area and for Hint Coins, check the window next to the
black cat that's left of the automobile (252), the bottle on the ground closest
to you (253), and the top of the street light on the right side (254). The top
of the automobile has the Sticky Seven-Pin collection item, and the RUBBER
DINGHY in the bottom left is a mystery item.

Check the railway tunnel entrance in the upper left for a puzzle.

PUZZLE 113 - Shunting into Sidings 2

This puzzle is similar to Puzzle 041 and 128, where you need to place the
railcars and engine in a similar position to the ones at the top.

- Go to the bottom left corner, hit the junction button, then go and link up
  with the railcars
- Move in between the two junctions at the top, disconnect the red car, go to
  the top left, hit the junction switch and drive to the bottom left.
- Hit the switch again, go all the way to the right, where the railcars
  initially were located
- Go up and connect the railcars again, moving to where both cars and the engine
  are in between the two junctions, then disconnect both cars
- Move the engine in between the junctions on the bottom, hit the switch and go
  to the top, making sure the railcars are disconnected before moving again
- Hit the junction switch again and move to the bottom left corner
- Hit the switch once more, move to the top left corner, hit the switch and
  connect the cars, moving them into their final position

From the railway tunnel, go southwest and check the brown-colored cat that's
sitting on the railing for another puzzle.

PUZZLE 114 - Copy Cats 2

This puzzle is similar to Puzzle 026, where you must guide two different cats,
which move simultaneously, to the house at the same time. Note that pressing the
button will make the cat turn, so that is added into the movements with the
solution below.

- Press left twice
- Press down three times
- Press right four times
- Press left twice
- Press up three times to finish

Talk to Mackintosh, then head back to the first area. Look at the ship at the
far right, which opens up a new area to the east, so head there. There aren't
any Hint Coins in there, so check the back door for a puzzle.

This puzzle is similar to Puzzle 009, where you need to line up the dials so
that each quadrant has the same number according to the number that each symbol
corresponds to.

- Rotate the inner dial a half turn

- Rotate the outer dial a quarter turn clockwise

This puzzle is similar to Puzzle 010, where you need to navigate across the
platforms to reach the other side, while avoiding the hooks.

- Go right and down to the bottom left corner

- Go up two times, then go right to the right edge
- Move up once, left once, then down and right to the goal

Before moving to the bridge, use the control panel to move the motor out of the
way, then zoom in on the area below. Check the MINI FIGHTER JET for a mystery
item, then look at the red barrels on the left for a puzzle.

PUZZLE 117 - A Laborious 9 Litres
Picarats - 40

This puzzle is similar to Puzzle 011, where you need to move liquid back and
forth, and end up with 9 litres spread across the two drums.

- Fill up the left drum, then transfer it to the right one
- Fill up the left drum again, then transfer it as well
- Empty the right drum, fill up the left and transfer it once more
- Fill the left and transfer it to the right to end up with 4 in the left and
  8 in the right
- Empty the right and fill the right to finish the puzzle

Head to the bridge now and check for Hint Coins, by looking at the right chair
straight ahead in front of the control panel (255), the yellow electric panel on
the left wall (256) and the right control panel on the far right (257). Check
the left control panel to get the Mysterious Remote collection item, and the red
chair on the upper level is BRONEV'S CHAIR, a mystery item.

Talk to Mackintosh and you'll end up back on the Bostonius. Leave the airship,
then talk to the Targent agent there (Plover) for a puzzle.

PUZZLE 119 - Jumbled Junctions

A crook is spotted by a cop and takes off, speeding away to the next junction
and keeping straight. The first chance he gets, he turns right, then takes
another right at the next junction. He makes one more right and then stops at
the next junction.

The crook is hiding at junction C.

PUZZLE 118 - Mutiny 2
Picarats - 40

This puzzle is similar to Puzzle 007, where you need to turn all the pirates
into sailors. Both can only move by leaping over pieces adjacent to them, and
multiple pieces can be leapt over. Pirates leapt over are turned into sailors
and vice versa.

- Take the pirate in the middle of the upper row and move it to the upper right
  corner, then move it to the lower right corner
- Take the middle sailor on the right column and move it to the upper right
  corner
- Move the piece in the lower right corner into the empty spot in the right
  column
- From here, take the sailor in the upper right and jump over the rest of the
  pirates to finish

Go to the new area that opens (Obsidian Tower). Check the two street lamps on
either side for two Hint Coins (258 and 259), as well as the two "arms" of the
decoration above the entrance for two more (260 and 261). Check the top of the
statue to get the GLOWING RED EYE mystery item.

Enter the tower and look for some Hint Coins, by checking the table's drawer on
the left side (262), the left diamond decoration towards the upper part of the
screen (263), and the top of the right pillar (264). Check the guard on the
right side for a puzzle.

PUZZLE 120 - Snoozysnore's Plan
Picarats - 40

To get past the guard, Sycamore has created two sleep bombs packed full of
Dormis soporis spores. Bombs are deflected at a right angle when they hit a
board. Additionally, whenever a bomb hits a board marked with a circle, the
board itself will also rotate 90 degrees. It's up to you to fire bombs from the
vents on the left and get one of them to land next to the vent in the top right.

Throw the first bomb in the middle vent, which will set up the boards for the
second bomb, which is thrown into the second vent from the left.

Head to the next area and hunt for the Hint Coins, by checking the table's
drawer on the right (265), the top of the pillar on the left (266) and the
pillar in the back, next to the door (267). If you check the potted plant on the
left side, you will get Midnight Knight collection item. Inspect the pillar,
then the door in the back for a puzzle.

PUZZLE 121 - Touch Ten Buttons

The control panel for this lift contains 25 buttons, ten of which need to be
pressed to activate the lift. The rows and columns are marked with numbers that
indicate how many buttons in that row of column need to be pressed. No buttons
should be pressed on rows or columns marked 0.

Take the lift up and search for Hint Coins, by checking the circle decorations
on the left and right pillars (268 and 269), as well as the middle of the
triangle above the main doors (270). Return to the Lower Obsidian Tower area and
look at the guard at the right for a puzzle.

PUZZLE 122 - Snoozysnore Returns!
Picarats - 50

This puzzle is similar to Puzzle 120, where you need to throw a sleep bomb to
the vent and knock out the guard. The same rules that applied before still apply
now.

Toss a bomb through the rightmost vent, then the other through the leftmost one.

Take the lifts back to the roof and talk to the man (Swift) in front of the
door. As long as you have solved 75 puzzles, you will be able to enter Bronev's
office. Bronev will challenge you to a coin game, where you each take a certain
number of coins and whoever grabs the last one wins.

Make sure you let Bronev go first. If Bronev takes one coin, you take three. If
he takes two coins, you also take two coins. If he takes three coins, then you
only take one. Basically, you want four coins to be remaining for the last
round, with you picking up the remainder.

You'll obtain the final Egg and will appear outside. Talk to Aurora for a
puzzle.

PUZZLE 143 - The Azran Eggs
Picarats - 30

Awoken by Aurora's command, the five eggs have each begun projecting a beam of
light. However, something about the beams seems off, resulting in the unlit
patches seen on the ground. Taking one egg at a time, adjust the beams by moving
the purple squares with the stylus and then giving a very brief tap to make the
dark squares light and vice versa.

- For the first egg, tap in either the top right or bottom left corner, then do
  the other one you didn't do
- For the second egg, tap the top right, then the bottom left and then the
  center
- For the third egg, tap the center, then the bottom right and finally the top
  left
- For the fourth egg, tap the top left, bottom left, bottom right and top right
- For the fifth egg, slide the light to the top, then tap; then slide to the
  middle of the left side, middle of the bottom and middle of the right

After viewing the cutscene, talk to Sycamore and you'll witness a plot twist. Go
back to Bronev's office and search for Hint Coins, checking the open book on the
desk to the left (271), the telescope in the upper right (272), and the fruit on
the table to the right (tap three times; 273).

The GRAMOPHONE to the right of the desk in the back is a mystery item, as well
as the DEER ARTWORK behind the glass on the far right. If you examine the round
pattern on the floor, it will open up a secret compartment. The crystal skull
houses a collection item (Ferocious Beast) and the bag on the bottom has a Hint
Coin (274).

Close this hidden area by pressing the red button, then look at the globe on the
far left for a puzzle.

PUZZLE 142 - X Marks...?
Picarats - 40

There's something off about this section of Bronev's globe. It shows the
location of a boy, along with six colored dots. Underneath all this, there is
what appears to be some kind of code: "X1L2L3R1R5R1." This code is all you will
need to figure out the destination of the boy.

His destination is the blue dot at the top.

Check the skeleton hanging up and watch the cutscenes, bringing an end to
Chapter 5.

This chapter begins with your arrival in Froenborg. Head to the ice cave and

down right above the door (277). If you check the pillar on the left, you will
receive the Essence of Everything collection item.

Talk to Descole and watch the scenes that follow, then talk to Descole again.
Head to the next area and search the two glowing crystals for Hint Coins (278
and 279), then talk to Luke. Look at the device on the left for a puzzle.

PUZZLE 144 - Medal Match-Up
Picarats - 40

This Azran device can be used to create a walkway across the ravine. To activate
it, you need to move each of the large inner medals next to the small outer
medal with the same color and pattern. The number on each medal indicates the
number of spaces the medal can be moved clockwise and counterclockwise.

- Move the silver coin to its correct spot
- Move the one-dot medal to the right
- Move the two-dot medal to its correct spot
- Move the one-dot medal up one spot
- Move the three-dot medal to its rightful spot
- Move the one-dot medal to its rightful spot

Go to the next area and search for Hint Coins, by checking the object above the
door (280), the horn-like object sticking out of the ground to the left of the
door (281) and the smallest round object towards the bottom of the screen (282).
The CEILING FOSSIL and MAMMOTH BONES are two mystery items and you can get The
Repenter collection item by checking the icicle to the left of the door.

Inspect the door for a puzzle.

PUZZLE 145 - Riddle-Me-Key

"When one shines above, six burn below. When three face the sun, four look to
the earth. When two swim to the surface, five dive to the depths. Solve my
riddle and prove your worth!"

Answer the doorkeeper's riddle by sliding stones into the correct slots in the
tablet below. Only then will the door open.

- The bottom piece of the second column from the left can be placed above the
  blue piece with the five dots
- The top piece and the second from the top of the second column from the right
  are the other two pieces needed
- The "six" goes below the four and the "two" goes to the right of the "six"

In the next area, search for Hint Coins by checking the broken pillar to the
left of the archway (283), the pot-like object on the right (284), and the right
hole in the ceiling (285). Check the top of the pot-like object on the left to
get the Captivating Cube collection item. Inspect the archway to find the next
puzzle.

PUZZLE 146 - Sprint and Switch!
Picarats - 50

The water level of the canal is controlled by switches on the walkways. If Luke
can press all the switches, the water will rise to its normal level. However,
there's a twist, as the light-colored tiles will fall once you step over them,
meaning you can't use the same path twice.

- Go down and press the bottom left switch first
- Go right and up to the intersection, then go right to hit the bottom-most
  switch on the right side
- From here, go down and hit the switch there, then north to the next one
- Keep going up to the switch on the top row, then left and down to the other
  switch in the upper left
- All that's left now is to keep going right, hitting two switches there and the
  final switch in front of the exit

Move on to the Chamber of Fire, where you can find four Hint Coins, by checking
one of the smaller statues in the left statue (286), the top of the right statue
(287), the torch behind the extended arm of the left statue (288), and the
pointed object to the right of the right statue (289). The lamp either statue is
holding is a mystery item (GATEKEEPER'S LAMP) and the top of the head of the
left statue holds the Thirteenth Eye collection item.

Check the swords for the next puzzle.

Puzzle 147 - Room of Doom

This room is full of Azran guardians that can reduce intruders to ash with a
mere glance! Luckily for Descole, they can only see straight ahead, so as long
as he stays out of their field of vision, he'll be safe. On top of that, if he
approaches the statues from the side or from behind, he can take them out with
his sword!

- Go right at the beginning and destroy the statue in the bottom row
- Continue right and then up, destroying the rightmost statue in the second row
  from the top
- Go back down and into the central column, destroying the first statue
  encountered on the left, then the one to the left of that
- Go left to the edge, then destroy the leftmost statue in the second row from
  the top, then the one to the right of that
- Now, destroy the statue in the upper left corner, then go all the way to the
  right, destroying the statue blocking the exit

Watch the scene that follows, then head to the next area. Look at the opening on
the left wall for a Hint Coin (290), then look at the blue stone on the right
pillar on the right side for another (291). Look at the circle on the floor for
the next puzzle.

PUZZLE 148 - A Groovy Lever
Picarats - 40

You've found a hidden lift, which can be activated by pulling a lever. However,
the groove the lever slides down is rotated out of alignment. Touching a yellow
circle rotates the squares surrounding it 90 degrees clockwise, but it can only
be done six times.

- Tap the rightmost button in the top row twice
- Tap the top left button twice
- Tap the left button in the middle row
- Tape the rightmost button in the top row to finish

Before zooming in, check the bird icon at the top of the archway in front of you
for a Hint Coin (292). Zoom in on the lift and you'll start the Finale chapter.

are the very last Hint Coins in the game, as there are only 300 and the last
five come from one of the rewards for the Treasure Hunt minigame.

Talk to Bronev for a puzzle.

PUZZLE 149 - Exit on the Left

This treacherous room is filled with spike traps and statues that fire lethal
lasers from their eyes. The statues turn 90 degrees clockwise every time Layton
takes a step, and as soon as he steps off a floor tile, spikes emerge through
it, making it impossible to turn back. The exit is on the left side.

- Walk up three spaces
- Walk left two spaces
- Walk down two spaces, then left one space
- Walk down two spaces, then left one space
- Walk down one space, then left one space
- Walk down one space, then left two spaces
- Walk up two spaces, then right one space
- Walk up one space, then right one space

ends, restoring balance. But time changes everything. By learning from the past,

- Tap the bow and arrow in the lower right
- Tap the hourglass in the lower left
- Tap the harp again
- Once the words are done on the upper screen, rotate the hourglass 180 degrees
